I don't think TechTool will tell you how much video ram you have, but
TattleTech will. It is freeware.
Everything but the amount of vram in techtool, thanks for the
correction. Techtool 1.1.x is also freeware, both are good to have handy
at that price. :)

Heres my 2ยข worth
In its day, 10 years ago, the Q950, with its full
33mhz 040, 5 or 6 nubus slots, and seemingly enormous
1-2 gig drive was the king of the heap in Macdom. The
Q840av was faster, but had fewer (3) nubus slots. I
have a friend in Texas who still has a room full of
950s used as servers for his dialup ISP in semi-rural
south Texas. Personally I would get an 840av, as it is
faster and its 72 pin ram is more readily available
than the ?33pin simms the 950 uses; but the 950 was
the arguably pinnacle of the prePPC mac line. Specs on
both available at LEM.

Re: BounceResponseBounces

2003-08-23 Thread Gordon Elliott
This may have affected me and a lot of other people. The "SOBIG" virus has
caused problems for a lot of e-mail servers as they become clogged with an
excessive number of mail with attachments. For example my service provider
was offline for hours yesterday and/or the day before. I expect this
happened to a lot of the group's members.

Hello,

I'm looking for more video memory for my Quadra 605. I'd like to get at least

find video RAM for this machine? What is the maximum memory that it will take?
After installing the memory will another choice for video mode magically

Hi Mike, sounds like either you only have the standard 512k of video ram
installed or your monitor is limited to those screen res.

Techtool may tell you what vram is installed, if its 512k you can
increase this to 1024k by replacing the two vram simm's this is the

With 1mb of vram you should get 1024x768 but I'd be surprised if it had
more than 256 colours, it should be a option in the monitor control panel.
