I have a CD Install Me First CD for the Macintosh Quadra 660av and
840av. It is version 1.2, copyright 1993 and part # 691-0207. It
installs System 7.1, System Update 2.0.1, Quicktime 1.6.1, AppleScript
1.0.1 and Apple Phone. There are a few third party items includes as
well. Experfax, Fusion Recorder, and a Demo of Quickkeys.

The CD says it has 156 MB with 11 MB free, but the preference folder in
the booting system folder on the CD says it contains 91 MB, and in
reality it contains nothing. So one is left with somewhere around 40 MB
of software on the CD.

The AV items that are included on the CD can be downloaded from or are
linked to from the AV FAQ
. Gamba's site
 will start a journey
that will lead to all the components that make up System 7.1 Pro.

I think legally you're not supposed to help yourself to the data on
the original disc. However, personally I would not feel as though I
was acting unethically if I were to acquire a copy for myself.
Original system software for vintage class machines isn't used for
any reason other than idle curiousity and a desire to use the
computer as it was intended. Pragmatically, I don't think anyone is
going to care.
I don't have a copy of this disc either.
Note that I'm not encouraging (or discouraging) any kind of software
piracy, simply giving my opinions as they pertain to *this particular
instance*.
