Almost certainly a ROM SIMM slot in that case.

I'm pretty sure mine doesn't even have the slot, and I know it's not
populated if it's present.

It has 64 pins.

Hm, thank you for your efforts, pickle ^_^. I will try
to get a 660av motherboard from ebay. I am guessing it
would cause more efforts to acquire the needed parts
and to solder them, but maybe will I do this later.
Does your 660av have a simm or something like that in
the 64pin slot? I would like to know if it is a needed
part, maybe my problems are caused by the fact that it
is missing, but then again, maybe there were different
versions/revisions of the 660 board?

Another Question about the Centris 660av, please...

2002-04-13 Thread Peter Heinemann

In my last post I wrote about the modification I
discovered soldered to the 660av«s motherboard. Hmmm,
but then I found, that one slot on the motherboard is
free (I do not mean the PDS). I am talking about the
one that is located left to the two DRAM Simm slots,
in an 90 degree angle. Since the VRAM od that machine
was not upgradeable, is this maybe a place for a Rom
simm, like in the PM6100?
