As far as I know the answer is no. They don't make USB cards for NuBUS Macs
and they don't make PCI Adapters for NuBus. As far as I know they don't make
much of anything new for NuBus Macs at all. So they only cards you wpuld be
able to find are used ones.

The closest thing there's ever been was the NuBus/PCI riser card for the
first generation of Power Computing clones, and it doesn't work in anything
but those machines.

I've never found them anywhere, but I just _know_ that I've read about them
in some old Mac magazine. SOmeone told me that they were only available for
some of the old clones, and that they will not work in real Macs.

I had Epson printers for years. I hated HP. It was a Mac vs. PC thing I guess, but
HP has come leaps and bouds. I love them now.

If you can find a USB card for a Quadra 800 then let us all know. You will make
a fortune.

Secondly, Epson printers are junk. Get HP. With an HP printer everytime you
change the ink Cartridge you get new printer heads...unlike Epson. I used to
hate HP, but I will NEVER go back to epson. Ever.

Re: Old Mac

Mark:

Don't retire that old Q800. Put 4 32mb SIMMS in it and keep on using it,
It's a great machine, just enjoy it.

Get a leter model Epson ( 2nd step up ) Don't get the cheap one. We've
got an 880. It's Fast, quiet and has good photo quality. Youl have to buy a
USP card to use the later printer but they're cheap.

You should also play with your Mac at work a little more. You might be
suprised. Macintosh might do the job even better.

Old Mac

2002-07-27 Thread Mark McCague

I feel the same out the old Mac I have. A Quadra 800 bought from new and
really is still like new, and original in stock configuration. My sister
still uses as a work processing machine hooked up to a Epson 750 Photo.
(colors printing is sllloow with 8mb of ram) I know I'll never be able
to get rid of the mac even though I gave her a PC for internet use and so
she can use some PC only software to be compatible with work & college. I've
recently acquired a 9500 also and should really get rid of it as I have 2-3
PC's that are my actual work machines. Kinda like to have the Mac just to
play with. Been thinking of putting a Unix on them as like someone else said
its just a toy and I'm not worried about any data on the machine.

I should really get ut more though.
