[Quantum Owners] Re: Fwd: Quantum Owners Club: 2+2 OR H4?
Geoff This person needs the Coupe. The back seats in either the 2+2 or the H4 may be a little small with a child seat in there. Remember we have in the past lost owners when the children out grow the back of these cars. However the Coupe is able to accommodate 2 children with all the kit (I've done it) and the car is very good on handling so fun in driving can be had. If he has any questions, get him to call me Eddie On Sep 10, 6:17 pm, geoff ward wrote: > Any one going to Stafford kit car show with a 2+2 or an H4? [Quantum Owners] Re: door glass guide rubber 2+2
Hi Justin I think if they are metal construction, they are standard Fiesta items. Inspect the lower sections very carefully ( down inside the doors ) as this area rusts and then stops the window going up and down properly. Would it be possible for owners here To post if they have tatty versions and if :- a) we can get them. B) if I need to mould some composite versions that won't rot. Thanks Eddie On Sep 10, 5:59 am, jin wrote: > Morning guys > > Im in great danger of actually finishing fitting my roof, yep its > taken me just over a month of constant tweaking and fettling but im > almost done (and if that’s not jinxed it I don’t know what will) > Question, are the rubber guide slide channels that fit to the H > section upright on the doors, a standard extrusion section or are they > fiesta? Re: [Quantum Owners] zetec engine fitting
Assuming you are talking about the blacktop Zetec-R and not the Zetec-S engines. I can't specifically remember one in an H4 but it's certainly been done in a 2+2 There's not a great difference between them and the earlier Zetecs. The main thing with the ecu is that if you want to use the Ford ecu you need to get a matching set of ECU and keys with the PATS sender in. Also, the air flow meter, injectors etc etc all have to match the ecu/engine. Your best bet is to take everything off one car. Either buy a written off car complete (preferable side or rear damage as you can find expensive bits broken on the engine with front damage), or get a scrapyard to let you have first access to one so you can get everything you need of it. Even if you did buy a new engine i'd still try and get everything else off one car. [Quantum Owners] Saloon throttle cable
Has anyone else had a "sticky throttle cable" with their saloon? On examination, the inner cable at the carb end has a black nylon sheath around the metal cable - The end of this nylon is catching on the nylon threaded part on the end of the outer cable when the throttle pedal is pressed. As I'm using the car a lot at the moment, I've got round the problem by filing a chamfer on the black nylon so it doesn't catch. The cause is that the outer cable is too long - If it was shorter then the black nylon part would already be inside the outer cable before the pedal is depressed. There is no more adjustment available at the carb end, and to fix it properly I could move the inner cable by making a new pedestal for the throttle pedal mounting, as long as it doesn't compromise the throttle pedal position. I believe I have the correct part (fiesta XR2), but unfortunately I don't have the part number on my list. I'll see if I have a receipt with the part number - but would appreciate knowing if anyone else has experienced this.
