[Quantum Owners] quantumowners.co.uk

2011-10-15 Thread TonyV
Hello again folks

I have a pressing need to have a look at the members only section of
the owners club site, but it's been a long time since I last logged on
(2003 if my emails from James L are anything to go by). I stopped
using it when the hibernian password was introduced because I hadn't
spotted the extra punctuation mark at the end and couldn't get it
working

I've no idea what my username or password are now. I've tried to
contact Russell using the provided contact us form but it failed
with an SMTP error; data not accepted.

Could some kind-hearted soul in the world of webmastering please get
back to me and let me have login details?

Many thanks

Tony Vincent.

[Quantum Owners] Wiring loom

2011-10-15 Thread TonyV
Anybody got an XR2 wiring loom up for grabs?

There are a few faults in my existing loom (started with interior
light, now has intermittent instruments etc).

Since it's been modified by a hamfisted Luddite to fit a large stereo/
amp, electric windows, central locking, electric mirrors, original XR2
engine and then again for the RST engine, I'm thinking it would be
easier to start again from an unmodded loom rather than compound the
problem with my Endura fit.

I know there's one on ebay at the moment, but at £75 it seems
expensive when the seller says he's cut some connectors off it.

Or should I ditch the Ford loom entirely and start making my own?
Maybe use one of those CBS pre-wired thingies?
I've never been happy with the dodgy fusebox and grey-turning-to-brown
wires which are nestled around it anyway...

[Quantum Owners] Re: Wiring loom

2011-10-15 Thread TonyV
Thanks Jim.

If you come across it and it looks usable, I'd be happy to buy it from
you.
Let me know how you get on.
I won't be in a position to look at the wiring for a couple of weeks,
so no rush.

If it's come from an XR2 I'm assuming that mods are likely to be only
for a stereo, but you never know.

I'd use it by having something like the (unused on a diesel) coil+
operate a relay, which then powers all the additional circuits - thus
keeping the Fiesta loom pretty much untouched.
