[Quantum Owners] 2+2 Clutch adjustment
Don't know if this is of any use to anyone or if anyone would care to comment but have had some clutch pedal issues recently with the bite point being very low and possibly not fully disengagingwere advised to change the auto adjust quadrant and pawl and were given a new oneon removing the pedal box, couldn't find anything wrong with the old one but changed it anyway but did notice that the cable radius in the quadrant was smaller.anyway, fitted the new one and tested it without noticing much difference but when out the following day, new adjuster failed completely and clutch wouldn't disengage at allkept having to fiddle with the adjuster to get it to stay in. Decided to investigate a bit more with a view to trying to bodge some kind of manual adjustment but on re-fitting the old bits and having a look at what was going on decided it was worth trying to change the point where the auto adjust operates by filing the tab that knocks out the pawl as it looked like it had already been hacked previously. Took a couple of mm off the tab and stop which effectivly means the pedal comes up a bit higher (now to the same height as the brake pedal)net result when re-fitted is that the bite point is now a bit higher than it was which was the object of the exercise and gears seem to engage better, presumably because the clutch is now fully disengaging. Does anyone have any commentsis it normal or necessary to modify the adjustment point tab -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Quantum Owners Group group. Re: [Quantum Owners] 2+2 Clutch adjustment
When you were removing and refitting the cable were you holding the pedal up against the stop to release the pawl ? When you refit the cable you need to also hold it against the stop and pull the quadrant right round to reset it. The tab shouldn't need modifiying on a Quantum but some of the build manuals do mention putting spacing washers behind the pedal box and making sure you don't have thick carpet and soundproofing behind the clutch pedal as it can stop the auto adjust working if the pedal hits the bulkhead. Re: [Quantum Owners] Hood for my Quantum 2 PLUS 2
This man made a fine hood for me 2 years ago and I am very pleased with it still. However you will have to fit your existing header plate and poppers which if you are into kit cars is no sweat. Ian Sims is the man and this is where he is sims_...@hotmail.com Cheers Jon 2+2 RST - Original Message - From: Aufer philfi2cl...@gmail.com To: Quantum Owners Group quantumowners@googlegroups.com Sent: Sunday, May 27, 2012 6:59 PM Subject: [Quantum Owners] Hood for my Quantum 2 PLUS 2 Hi all , im after a new hood for my 2+2 ,does anyone know if they are still made or where i can get one made???
