Is it worth trying the Robin hood club as they dont use them in the car. I had two and threw them away however one had gone hard with age. [Quantum Owners] Xtreme fuel filler pipe seal
I'm trying to find the seal that seals the inlet pipe to the fuel tank on the Xtreme. I know its Sierra, but the Ford dealer says he can't get them and I'm not scoring any success googling or on e bay. No luck with the motor factors neither. There is one on e bay claiming to be for a Sierra Cosworth, but don't know if its the same and the seller is not responding to questions. I am sure there must be some out there and maybe I am googling the wrong search words. Thanks Jim, I didn't realise the inlet and exhaust were the other way to the cvh and standard zetec - what a pain! Back to the search for a larger capacity cvh I guess. I did measure one some time ago and i think the length was about the same as the CVH, i.e shorter than the Zetec. You might still need to cut and re-angle the top rail though to clear the wider twin cam head. The exhaust is on the rear of the engine so clearance might be tight against the bulkhead and steering rack, almost certainly would need a custom exhaust manifold making, especially as the standard one includes the cat which is about 6" dia. Don't forget any injection engine is going to involve changing the fuel tank to one with a swirl pot, or plumbing in an external one. Also, you will need the ecu and wiring loom with the matching key for the PATS system. I don't supposes anyone out there knows if a "Zetec SE" engine and gearbox out of a 1.7 Ford Puma would fit in a 2+2 without having to cut the engine frame?
