How are the spark plugs if you remove them? That will give an indication of how 
rich it is running.

  This has progressively got worse; before it only happened after I put my foot 
down hard.
  Has anybody experienced a similar problem?
  My carbs run well; ggod performance just not so good on fuel consumption!
  I dont visibly see any gaskets leaking, is there possibly a blockage 
somewhere?
  Are there any know issues with this combo?
