Re: [Quantum Owners] Xtreame dampener adjustment ?

2016-06-18 Thread Nigel Plant
I generally agree with Ian's comments, but I if its that noticeable, I would be
surprised if it was the dampers. Other things to check are the spring rates. If
Quantum supplied them, they had three different sets, road, road / track and
track. I switched from road to road/ track. That was far more noticeable than
any changes I made to damper settings. If you want to try, I still have the
original road springs. I covered this in a QM article once giving the actual
rates. If necessary I could dig them out. Also check how tight the suspension
bolts are at the back. I have heard that they can be overtightened, clamping
the suspension, causing the ride height to 'ratchet' down with driving. Finally
check the spring preload by measuring the ride height, just in front of rear
snd behind front wheels. By memory it should be 5.5 and 5 inches rear to front
respectively.

Re: [Quantum Owners] Xtreame dampener adjustment ?

2016-06-18 Thread Ian Harrison
If they are like mine, back them all the way off by turning the knob anti
clockwise, then add clicks until you achieve the ride you are after. Some
say all the way off is rust right. I run mine about half way for track and
back off three or four clicks for the road.

A new initiative in conjunction with Bristol Street Motors started in April.
A special team have been established at Daventry to service E bay orders placed
through the BSM ebay shop.

The scheme will be expanded to cover more dealerships later this year.Orders
received in Daventry by 11 a.m. will be dispatched the same day by mail or
courier.

The service is available even for single part orders. Although biased towards
current parts some parts for older vehicles will be included.

[Quantum Owners] Xtreame dampener adjustment ?

2016-06-18 Thread 'robert greig' via Quantum Owners Group
Hello.
After our week driving the Xtreame around Devon and Cornwall.I can say for
sure, the Suspension is too hard.
I've had a quick looked at the build manual, but can't see any reference to how
to adjust the dampener.
IE do I jack the car up to adjust them or not?
Is there a reconmended number of "clicks"
Thanks in advance for any reply's.Regards Robert Greig.
