Re: [Quantum Owners] 2+2 Steering Wobble
Worth a check on the brake discs. Dial gauge checking the outside rim does not move towards the side and back as it rotates 360 degrees. This check is required when fitting a new set of discs and is not always done. I had a similar problem on my Rickman after checking and changing things I decided to check the tracking, couldn’t be that I thought, but it was and after setting it up all the wobble and vibration was gone, worth a check at least, I used my homemade tracking tool and I can get it near enough Sent from my iPhone > On 9 Jun 2018, at 15:32, Nigel Plant wrote: > > It's fun learning a new car!! Re: [Quantum Owners] 2+2 Increasing Driver Legroom
Thanks for the responses, looked again and seems straight forward. I had looked at the flat raised bit before and assumed it was box section. Now realise it's not. Will sort next weekend all being well. Yes it does have the vertical legs at front so will just drill those out per Jim suggestion. Re: [Quantum Owners] Ford Central locking motor identification
I had a similar problem a few years ago. I changed the actuator on the door that wouldn't lock and all was fine. I used a generic actuator. Chris G -Original Message- From: 'Chris Fairlie' via Quantum Owners Group Sent: Friday, June 8, 2018 9:14 PM To: quantumowners@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: [Quantum Owners] Ford Central locking motor identification Martin Yes any information appreciated. When I unlock the o/s it unlocks the n/s door, but when I lock the o/s door it doesn't lock the n/s door. N/S side lock works correctly. I was thinking this is likely to be a faulty contact in the o/s actuator, but could equally be a wiring fault. [Quantum Owners] 2+2 Steering Wobble
It's fun learning a new car!! The 2+2 I recently bought has a slight wobble on the steering wheel, similar to wheel unbalance or buckled wheel, but have ruled those out. Re: [Quantum Owners] Ford Central locking motor identification
Hello Chris, I've looked in my book and unfortunately don't have the info. If I recall correctly they were as per the escort (or fiesta) diagram, and that may be why I didn't make a separate note. I wonder if one of the connection for the N/S lock isn't as good as it could be - ie it locks manually ok, but doesn't actuate on lockingthe O/S. You could convert to LH driving to avoid dashing around the car, and would be easier for French trips :-) Martin - Original Message - From: "'Chris Fairlie' via Quantum Owners Group" To: Sent: Friday, June 08, 2018 9:14 PM Subject: RE: [Quantum Owners] Ford Central locking motor identification Martin Yes any information appreciated.
