Hello, anybody know how I can find out the boss on a steering wheel. I'd
like a new Momo but need to find out the type first.

Thanks.

Hi. Many thanks for all that information. Ill continue what I done this morning
then. Press the pedal once before starting, turn the ignition on, hold at
2000RPM until it settles down and drive off carefully. As long as I know I can
do this when NOT moving and out of gear. I'm just worried, (but your post had
reassured me) my Dad said if I apply to much acceleration, over time, I'd flood
the engine? I don't know if he's right? Thanks again.

[Quantum Owners] Auto Choke on 2+2

2012-10-02 Thread Chris Brighton
Me again! My car has an auto choke. I've looked around the steering wheel and I
couldn't see anything to pull out. Anyway. This morning (before I started the
engine) I pressed the accelerator pedal a few times and THEN I started the
engine. However. It cut out pretty much straight away. Am I doing it right?
Pumping the pedal before I start the engine, then start the engine? I also get
some smoke out of the exhaust. I take it that's normal though? Cold morning's?
Thanks again for all your help and advice.

So, are you saying that's a good decision? I've only had it a few weeks but
it's been doing my head in, I can't cope with that noise going off at random
anymore!!

Thanks for all your input but I'm taking drastic action! My mechanic is going
to disable the alarm all together, however, that means no more central locking.
But trust me, I've lived with my car with the alarm going off at any time, I
don't care about the central locking, only the fact that I'll never hear that
sound again! You'll probably think that's a bad decision and I appreciate all
your input but I wouldn't mind what you all thought!

Hi Gary, the alarm is a Sparkrite. I found that name on the alarm fob. I am
based in Norwich. Do you think I need a auto electrician? Thanks.

By the way, the alarm is a Sparkrite alarm. Does this help?

Ok many thanks for that. I tried something today and you could say it was a
step forward. When I bought the car I was given 2 keys. Today I used the spare
key to unlock the door and nothing happened. (The door opened but no sounds
could be heard), when I got out, I used the spare key again but this time
locked the car from the passenger side. So far, this seems that doing this
DOESN'T activate the alarm. Have you heard of anything like this before?

Also, where in the car are the interior door light switches?!?

Hi,

The door switches? Hm, I'm not very good with this sort of thing! But yes,
if I lock one side of the car the other side will lock. Any suggestions? I
understand you need to know about the car itself first!

About the blue light, do you know what sort of alarms do have blue LED's?

Many thanks.

[Quantum Owners] 2+2 alarm problems.

2012-09-07 Thread Chris Brighton
Hi all,

I have recently acquired a Quantum 2+2 and I am having alarm problems.

The blue flashing light that situated in front of the hazard button will
sometimes flash when I get out of the car, and sometimes it won't. If it is
flashing I have to press the button on the alarm fob, sometimes the alarm
will go off and sometimes it won't.

Also, when I get out of the car, you'll hear a clunk, I take it that's the
central locking?

Recently I've been hearing a sound when I indicate or when I'm at low speed.

It's been really annoying me so I took it to a garage and asked if he could
disable the alarm altogether, he did but then realised that the alarm is
connected/wired into the central locking.

I know this is quite confusing so I'll appreciate any help you could give
me.

Many thanks.
