[Quantum Owners] 2 + 2 hard top
Hi all, decided it was time to fit my hard top to my 2 + 2 but don't have any instuctions. The front is obvious using the same type of clips as the soft top, but the rear touches the "lift the dot" studs and thus fouls the boot hinges. Looks like clearence holes need to be drilled to match the lift the dot studs. Can anyone tell me how it is ment to be fitted. Also Eddy how much are the Quantum decals for the side of the car ?. If it is a MK1 hardtop I think I have the instructions and could scan in and send. If I haven't I can tell you how they were fitted. Re: [Quantum Owners] 2 + 2 hard top
If the "lift the dot" fixings are the ones i think they are, they are taller than the press stud fittings used on the 2+2 normally. My hard top normally just sat on top of the fixed half of the press stud and was secured with some nuts and bolts. The Mk1 hard top had some weird arrangement with furniture blocks and drawing board clips but i didn't use that. Re: [Quantum Owners] 2 + 2 hard top for sale
The Mk2 hardtop like this should be better than the Mk1 (textured) version. But both will depend on the revision of the sealing you have around the hockeystick / quarterlight area, there were at least 3 different versions of this area. The hard top hooks onto the same loops as the soft top at the front and has bolts (4 i think) through the body flange on the rear. Re: [Quantum Owners] 2 + 2 hard top for sale
Apologies, getting confused, that was the roll bar fitting instructions, as I have one for sale as well. The front fixes as Jim said, then 2 bolts go through the side, holes have to be drilled, then 2 plates which clamp the rear in place. Re: [Quantum Owners] 2 + 2 hard top for sale
Hi Derek, I can confirm that roll bar fits inside, the front fixing is located underneath the top seat belt mount with 2 extra M8 bolts with a reinforcing plate underneath, accessed through the speaker holes, has 2 mounts on the rear shelf, 2 M8 bolts through the top & 1 through the back seat area. As I have not removed it from my car, I don't know how watertight it is around the hockey sticks, added to that the drivers door was out of adjustment, so the top of door window glass was about 13mm away from the hardtop, I did adjust the door & it didn't appear to leak, the donor car was factory built, so I think it had extra sealing applied. Email me at john.woodwar...@gmail.com for photo's. On Thursday, 29 September 2016 14:38:41 UTC+1, Derek Clews wrote: > > Hi John > > I could be interested. Any pics?
