Hi Andrew. After a quick look around, the 1.4 Mk2 Fiesta appears to have the solid brake discs fitted as standard. If the caliper you are trying doesn't get across the disc and pads, someone may have upgraded to the ventilated discs used on the Mk2 XR2 as this is a reasonably simple upgrade. (Also the XR2 discs have a slightly larger diameter). To help work out if this is the case here's a couple of links to a company's website I have used for diagrams and measurements before. I cannot make any recommendations for the company because I have only used the site for information.
Mk2 1.4 front brake info: http://www.brakepartssuperstore.org.uk/contents/en-uk/d6404.html Mk2 XR2 front brake info: http://www.brakepartssuperstore.org.uk/contents/en-uk/d6350.html These pages have drawings and dimensions of the discs and photos and dimensions of the calipers. If the parts you have match up with the XR2 measurements, you have XR2 brakes (1983-1989 should cover the year) Of course, someone may have gone to town on upgrading the brakes and you may have something completely different! Hope this helps Dave English -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
