[Quantum Owners] Waterproofing spray for hoods?
Hi all, The recent wet weather isn't doing my Q much good. So, when I saw a Sony phone that has some kind of nanocoating that makes it waterproof, that got me thinking. I've seen fabric sprays that make water just bead up and run off. I wondered if any of you out there had tried one of those on a Q2+2's roof. I'm thinking that the less water soaks into the fabric on mine, the less will drip into the car from the corners where the roof meets the top of the windscreen. Have any of you successfully tried one of these sprays? Matthew -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Quantum Owners Group group. Re: [Quantum Owners] Waterproofing spray for hoods?
I tried the one that Aldi get in occasionally and it seemed to work well but they all lose performance over time. The original black liquid that I used on my first 2+2 worked well but did mark when the hood was folded which probably isn't too much of an issue at this time of year. The name escapes me at present but I may still have the tin in the garage. Russell On 19/11/2013 15:07, MatthewG wrote: Hi all, The recent wet weather isn't doing my Q much good. Re: [Quantum Owners] Waterproofing spray for hoods?
Hi, I use the autoglym fabric hood cleaner and conditioner kit, every September time on my Elan, same type of hood, luckily my H4 isnt a fabric roof. There are plenty of water proofers, but they all wear off in months rather than years, and the older the hood gets, the more the fabric stretches, and becomes more breathable, and prone to seeping the rain through, so as it gets older may be worth doing twice a year rather than just the once?
