[qubes-users] How to change TemplateVM update method from Whonix to just another appvm?

Re: [qubes-users] qubes in doctors office as server for clients?
The security model of Qubes may not be what you want for a "server" primarily due to the relative inaccessibility of an appVM from "outside". [qubes-users] qubes clipboard mangles text character (emdash)
When pasting text through the Qubes Clipboard, I noticed the emdash character (—) is silently removed. Reproduction: Copy this text, paste it elsewhere in SAME AppVM (so no Qubes Clipboard involvement): One — two three. It should paste fine. Copy the same text to the Qubes Clipboard (Control-C Control-Shift-C), paste into same program in DIFFERENT AppVM with Control-Shift-V Control-V. Expected: Text is same Seen: Text is mangled, no more "—". Now, Joanna of the Qubes team has written that Qubes only uses the passive X11 clipboard with no "rich text" (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/qubes-devel/fgjEKCOnM7E/zciO65Vm_lcJ). But this is still just plain text, albeit utf-8, it should work fine in passive mode. From what I can tell googling around, X11 clipboard supports utf8/Unicode so even if emdash is non ASCII shouldn't it still be supported? Is there some security risk to pasting unicode text, or is this a bug? Thanks for any insights. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "qubes-users" group. Report Abuse: http://www.anonymousspeech.com/contact.aspx Stop receiving emails from AnonymousSpeech.com: http://www.anonymousspeech.com/bannedemail.aspx?email=qubes-users@googlegroups.com *** Hello, I am new to Qubes, and so far it's been... an experience. When I perform a whonix check on any of the whonix VMs, I get an error window that is quite confusing, because it doesn't actually state what it is complaining about. The message says:
ERROR: systemd Clock Check Result: Unexpected results by timedatectl
It then goes on to list the Local time, which is correct, and Universal time, which is again correct, and both Local and Universal are the same. In other words, there is no error, because both times are actually correct, and the system is set to UTC. So what is the error? Stating something is unexpected without actually listing what that something is does not facilitate troubleshooting in any way. BTW, I'd attach a screenshot, but the error window pops up in the Dom0 desktop and there doesn't seem to be any way to share it with the anon-whonix VM where I am composing this email. I tried qvm-copy in a Dom0 console but got a command not found message. I searched the Qubes-OS site for instructions on how to share a screenshot between Dom0 (or any file for that matter), but to no avail. So if it is possible it is not very obvious as to how.
