https://twitter.com/debian Buster has arrived! Yay! :D That is awesome! Concrete question: I have still debian-9-minimal's running (for ex. for netvm), is there a new debian-buster-minimal template in preparation (or already available, and I did not see it)? [qubes-users] Re: Installing qubes, new machine.
> there were some random problems ranging from not shutting down I know this is the least of your problems right now, but since you mentioned it, I often had this problem after a fresh install, and finally figured out what is was. If Qubes is aware of available updates, sometimes it refuses to shut down. I literally had to yank the power cord, and remove the laptop battery. After a fresh install, it is a good idea to one by one, manually update each and every cube, starting with dom0, of course. Then it will shut down. Normally, I do a reboot after installing an OS, but not with Qubes. It wants those updates first, I guess. I may be wrong, but this works for me. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "qubes-users" group. You could try the troubleshooting guide or installing a driver: https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/nvidia-troubleshooting/ https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/install-nvidia-driver/ Since nvidia is generally a source a problems, I'd check to see if you can change the BIOS/UEFI settings to turn off the Nvidia GPU and switch to integrated Intel graphics (if available). Instructions say to restart the proxyVM (i.e. the vpn appVM) to start the connection. That means the connection starts when the proxyVM starts. The service wasn't found because if you install it directly into a proxyVM, it is added to the OS on each boot from a system startup script (that's because you chose not to add it to the OS template). So it won't be registered or active right after installation; a restart is necessary. -- Chris Laprise, tas...@posteo.net https://github.com/tasket https://twitter.com/ttaskett PGP: BEE2 20C5 356E 764A 73EB 4AB3 1DC4 D106 F07F 1886 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "qubes-users" group.
