[qubes-users] Re: Boot / Installer Problem

2019-05-19 Thread 'mich...@schefczyk.net' via qubes-users
Thank you very much! I did try it, but I could not get it to solve the issue.
With the original installer .iso, the Acer Spin 1 does boot loop indefinitely.
With the .iso modification, it does try once and then gives up without further
error messages.

Any futher suggestions?

Re: [qubes-users] Boot / Installer Problem

2019-05-08 Thread 'mich...@schefczyk.net' via qubes-users
Secureboot is disabled. As recommended in many forum entries on installing
other Linux variants on this very device, network boot is also enabled (despite
not booting from the network) - if not, it does not work either. However, UEFI
is fixed as the only option available. As best as I understand, the device does
not have Legacy BIOS boot anymore.

Is there anything else worth trying?

Re: [qubes-users] Boot / Installer Problem

2019-05-07 Thread 'mich...@schefczyk.net' via qubes-users
As far as I can tell, the Acer Spin 1 does boot loop even with:

[qubes-verbose]
options=console=vga efi=attr=uc
# noexitboot=1
# mapbs=1

and

[qubes-verbose]
options=console=vga efi=no-rs
# noexitboot=1
# mapbs=1

Are there any further ideas on how to solve that?

Under Debian, the system does boot fine:

https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Acer/Spin1

Newer Debian and/or hardware versions do not even require the testing kernel
anymore.

Thanks! Michael
