[qubes-users] bind-dirs qubes 4.0

2018-12-02 Thread Roy Bernat
Hi

I use this article to create bind-dirs

i created this file 50_user.conf under /rw/config/qubes-bind-dirs.d

with the following

binds+=( '/var/lib/docker' )
binds+=( '/etc/docker' )

for testing i created a folder inside /var/lib/docker called test and after

reboot the folder removed .

what is the mistake ?

[qubes-users] Appvm - memory

2017-12-24 Thread Roy Bernat
Hi All ,

using qubes 4rc3  ( 16GB  i7 7500 ) .  the appvm is based on fedora26.   i saw
something weird, i put min memory 800, max mem 8000 , 4 cpu . and for some
reason the memory is stuck on 3742 always.

This cause everything to be very very slow when i add more apps .

Any ideas ?

Did you make it permanently ? inside the grub ?

Open a terminal in dom0
Edit /etc/default/grub (e.g. sudo nano /etc/default/grub)
Add to the line GRUB_CMDLINE_XEN_DEFAULT the setting iommu=no-igfx, save and
quit
Commit the change withsudo grub2-mkconfig --output /boot/grub2/grub.cfg

Dont give up :)

In my point of view bring you own laptop inside secure lan is the worst thing
as CTO i will want .
1. email - browser
2. rdp - remmina
3. libre office doing the job .

you will create appvm that will be completely isolate from the internet with
all the apps i mentioned with specific sys-net and firewall for the office only
.

Moving from windows at start seems to be very hard . after you will do your
first step you will never want to go back .:)

2017-10-17 Thread Roy Bernat
Hi

i have dell xps 9360 ( kaby lake i7 intel 620 )

when i installed qubes after installation the qubes didnt succeeded to start .

work around that worked was to remove from grub the iommu=no-igfx and after
