Re: [qubes-users] Unable to create set templates as disposable vm templates

2020-08-16 Thread George Chen
Problem solved, the method is still usable, and was due to my own
incompetence. The error only appeared since I was attempting to convert a
template vm to a disposable vm template, rather than just converting an
appvm, based on the template vm, to become a disposable vm template.

[qubes-users] Qubes Firewall, how to use Tor Browser's Tor on fresh installatiion for a first update of Qubes OS and to download templates

2017-07-02 Thread George Malloy
Hi!

I am new to qubes, could you please explain me is there a possibility to setup
manually predownloaded Tor Browser's Tor on the fresh Qubes 3.2 installation so
the Whonix GW template I wish to download for every following template
downloads and updates on Qubes to go through the tor since the first connection
of OS to the internet? I know that Tor Browser provides the proxy ip through
which all the traffic goes through Tor, is there is a way to offline configure
the Qubes OS to route all traffic for the updates, time server sync, template
downloads and literally all the other traffic through that proxy? So thr ISP
wouldn't know that i use Qubes right from the start

Yes. I get the same issue too. I can read the message, but I can't write, and
I'm also in Debian-8 VM on Qubes 3.2, with Enigmail and Thunderbird. I can READ
messages, but I can't send them, nor verify/encrypt/sign them. I'm not sure
what to do with this...

I actually can't even lock the screen with Ctrl+Alt+L. I went over the
~/.xscreensaver config file and just about every other thing mentioned online,
but no matter what I do, it just blanks the screen without locking. I'm on
XFCE. I found out the KDE one worked just fine though, but only in the KDE
session.

Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong, but I tried anything I could come up with
for fixing it and it's not working for me.

Works within the AppVMs on our HiDPI displays. Fortunately, Qubes Team is
working on addressing HiDPI.

Dude. This is awesome for the AppVMs. My eyes are no longer bleeding from
reading standard print size font on a 15" 4k screen nor bleeding from scaling
in xrandr.

[qubes-users] Re: HCL - Lenovo Y50-70

2016-07-15 Thread george . sopko
Thanks! I got it to work with 3.1 RC2. However, I got it to work via legacy USB
boot. Whenever I tried UEFI I never got the Qubes installer splash screen so I
went back to legacy boot support and did a legacy USB boot and it worked.

Now, those pesky 4K optimizations. Fedora is beast at 4K, wish they could copy
that functionality in regard to the display.

And then I'll look at the WLAN card, etc.

Can you list the steps that you used to accomplish this? I also have a Y50-70
and I get the initial splash screen, I get error messages in regards to the
pane, and then it just hangs until I press the power button.

Thanks,
