[qubes-users] Fedora 31 has reached EOL

2020-11-24 Thread Andrew David Wong

Dear Qubes Community,

Fedora 31 has reached EOL (end-of-life [1]). If you have not already
done so, we strongly recommend upgrading your Fedora 31 TemplateVMs and
StandaloneVMs to Fedora 32 immediately. We provide step-by-step upgrade
instructions for upgrading Fedora TemplateVMs [2]. For a complete list
of TemplateVM versions supported for your specific version of Qubes, see
the list of supported TemplateVM versions [3].

We also provide a fresh Fedora 32 TemplateVM package through the
official Qubes repositories, which you can install in dom0 by following
the standard installation instructions [4].

After upgrading your TemplateVMs, please remember to switch all qubes
that were using the old template to use the new one [5].

Please note that no user action is required regarding the OS version in
dom0. For details, please see our note on dom0 and EOL [6].

[qubes-users] Fedora 31 approaching EOL

Dear Qubes Community,

Fedora 33 was released today [1], 2020-10-27. According to the Fedora

We strongly recommend that all Qubes users upgrade their Fedora 31
TemplateVMs and StandaloneVMs to Fedora 32 or higher before Fedora 31
reaches EOL. We provide step-by-step upgrade instructions for upgrading
Fedora TemplateVMs [5]. For a complete list of TemplateVM versions
supported for your specific version of Qubes, see Supported TemplateVM
Versions [6].

We also provide a fresh Fedora 32 TemplateVM package through the

[qubes-users] fedora-31-minimal and sudo

2020-06-14 Thread Ulrich Windl

Hi!

A short question: Is it intentional that "sudo" asks for a password in
fedora-31-minimal?

I had installed the template and then applied updates. After that I
tried to "sudo -s"...

Regards,
Ulrich

Re: [qubes-users] Fedora 31 ?

2020-05-03 Thread Catacombs
I get the same error message.
After I typed sudo and so on. It never asked for a password.
I set when I first installed Qubes onto this to do updates through Whonix.
I am also guessing the repo servers might be busy right now.

I am using a public WiFi (McDs). Which tries to block any Linux. Freeware
downloads by IP address, which is why I set it to download by whonix.

Sitting outside McDs today I have exceeded my daily limit of frustration.

As I tried to say when I asked. Will the need to upgrade to the next level of
Fedora trigger a new release of QUBEs. As installing Qubes from scratch is
easier than my computer trying to negotiate a tricky connection with update
repos.

Still thanks to the developers. What I experienced in trying to download
software is nothing compared to what you fellows slog through.

[qubes-users] Fedora 31 ?

2020-05-02 Thread anon

thank you for your reply, not sure what I'm doing wrong if it is there?
maybe I don't have the correct repos?  where-ever it is that dom0 stores
those?

I've had successful dom0 updates over the last month, btw, from the widget

@dom0 ~]$ sudo qubes-dom0-update qubes-template-fedora-31

What you're seeing are the installed packages in dom0.

You have to pull the template from the repository with the command

dom0$ sudo qubes-dom0-update qubes-template-fedora-31

It's you :-)

You have to install the template using

dom0$ qubes-dom0-update qubes-template-fedora-31

and after that shutdown every qube, switch to the new Fedora TemplateVM
(Qube Manager > Manage templates for qubes (System menu)) and restart
every qube.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Miguel

Hello Qubes users,

Do any of you tried and succeed upgrading a Fedora template to version 31?

If so, how?

Thanks
