He means to clone the template *before* you experiment with it (e.g., uninstall or install packages when you're entire certain what will happen as a result). By cloning the template first, it's very easy to recover from a mistake. You simply delete the messed up clone, and you still have the working original template (which you can then clone from again). - -- Andrew David Wong (Axon) Community Manager, Qubes OS https://www.qubes-os.org -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iQIcBAEBCgAGBQJXl1iJAAoJENtN07w5UDAwjz4P/A8OWpIBytiWpsg1kB7FA29X lVXFxm0R3YWncMZZaWcboVGPa2WvK8yTJRgfYLH+WXcHvlsCehfpdFcCQZmD9LE0 Wc1wgyTY/kxv+yUofGZGFQtn5XT2W/HhNBsSuN23TVQQuHDR6foJKmH5eCW+J/ut l7bI07q67oX4MtMxim1akmYluR4Ktb4PMFVHrVyOjyBSARVR9rDSauzOWw89IT71 6PCA2HXhANYOgxHycEBnDlsCTviMqGYxsEKImh1J3u9c3SVP8Lizm/nYRXk5+7eg wShNCB0Hyghi1bnnpujvjPerw6s5bOvcGZd9xciw6weu39577n7KqZ2Msl0uQGYj pmaWaUE273isZKwGsGQuLayLWV6qMIwIBAL5LvlmI3GZeqOOw6oLBTQA37Pi3y7e CQ4AHmvXT2aaH21vmyRu2AH7Sp0g91XAFZAWcVF8v5rY+RZyr94lfRfZmReSneis Rl4i6No+P4DAwtq+z51IlYxS71OVATkAFnSe5YLWKJGxwKUunC+oXNkWfGqix7lc OExOO9J6zcJebSF5O2Z5PhytICNNJuV1GThO7MrTAb081OqzTzM7dftt3RRuY0A0 9RablsyQCadF7nmX/f7GrETOr5t5MxgelEs0D9pxlhUt3ONKdkx9ySOUKaBDxukg 5QyjSn6yrmK/LOcbOUlX =pip0 -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "qubes-users" group. Surely cloning the template will just clone it with Nautilus still broken..? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "qubes-users" group. Qubes makes cloning very easy. Now, in your case, I would consider using the debian template instead, just because it is so easy and fast to make the change. [qubes-users] Nautilus is broken
Nautilus is broken for me on the fedora-23 template "nautilus: error while loading shared libraries: libicui18n.so.54: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" I tried installing libicuil8n.so.54 in the template VM. but it still has the same error message. I did this after manually removing some packages, so this is definitely a screw up on my part, and NOT a QUBES screw-up.
