Re: [Radiant] globalize2 doen't work

2010-04-26 Thread Cristi Duma
I've never tested it on edge, but I'm pretty sure it does not work. The
master branch of the extension was tested on 0.9 RC1 and it does work. And I
won't update it to edge, edge changes too often :). I'm waiting for Radiant
0.9 official release. But you could try one of the forks. Edmund
Haselwanter's fork
 or
Benny Degezelle's fork
 worked
on edge.

Re: [Radiant] globalize2 doen't work

2010-04-26 Thread Cristi Duma
Hi Xavi,

could you please specify which version of radiant you are using? Globalize 2
extension is compatible with Radiant 0.8 and Radiant 0.9 RC1 (not with
edge). If you're using Radiant 0.8 then checkout the 0.8 branch.

About the flag not appearing, did you ran the update rake task. The ES flag
is 'bundled' with globalize 2 extension.

I've also recorded 2 screencasts: one for
globalize2
and
another
oneto
address some compatibility issues between globalize2 and some other
extensions.

Hope it helps,
Cristi

It's out, episode
9,
3 extensions: Import Export, Super Export and File System. Bring
portability and version control friendliness to your Radiant project.

Please, suggestions, anything that can improve the quality of the

bliptv provides a .mov version but I think their TOS don't allow me to
publish deep links to those .mov versions. I'll have to check that up, just
to be sure.

I would host them on S3 so people could download them, but as I said, I'm
only investing time in this at the moment. (If anyone wants to chip in, we
can accept donations and we wouldn't mind hosting them there :) )

If someone has a better hosting solution, I'd be happy to look into it

Re: [Radiant] Trouble installing database_mailer

2010-01-28 Thread Cristi Duma
actually nav is a reference to Radiant 0.9.1 RC1. There are branches for
each of the latest radiant versions.

So for example if you're working on Radiant 0.8.1, you will need to checkout
that branch of the database_mailer extension

git clone database_mailer repo
cd vendor/extensions/database_mailer
git checkout -b 0.8 origin/0.8

now migrate, update, start using the extension

[Radiant] [ANN] Radiantcasts episode 4

2009-12-14 Thread Cristi Duma
Finally got around to record a new episode of radiantcasts. This
one
covers
some basic usage of the Radiant Mailer extension. It presents a basic
'contact-us' form, some observations about validation, and a tip on how to
use two forms on the same page. Hope you'll enjoy it and hope some of the

Well, although we use mailer extension on every site, database-mailer was
used only a few times and we never needed Recaptcha. But, I think it is a
good idea. Maybe someone will do it, when they need it.

At the moment, for multiple attachments you can just add more "file" fields,
Don't know if there is a flash uploader.

Re: [Radiant] Add pagination Use ext pagination

Hi

You're right, Paginate Extension should be in vendor/extensions. Sorry,
my mistake. Updated now.

An example:

If you put the above snippet in a parent page, it will paginate all of

  Another thing, I think the extension should be installed in vendor /
extensions and not in vendor / plugin as the example

Re: [Radiant] Problem installing mailer extension

2009-08-06 Thread Cristi Duma
The thing is that you don't need to run "update" on mailer extension.
There's nothing to update. As there is nothing to migrate. You just need
to clone the extension and config the mailer in the "mailer" page part.

And you get that error, because the "update" task is not present in the
extension.

glad you figured it out. this means I can anounce the "new" version of
mailer

this version
 of
Mailer Extension works on Radiant 0.8 and I added the mail attachments
from Jomz's branch. Also there are some cucumber features and the specs
have been fixed. Hasn't been tested on a production site yet, but
locally it works pretty good.

Pull requests have been sent.

This are just guesses:

1. When you set the DATABASE_MAILER_COLUMNS in your environment.rb you
need to set the exact fields you will have in your mailer form. If you
see on the blog we have:

DATABASE_MAILER_COLUMNS = {
  :name => :string,
  :message => :text,
  :email => :string
}

and

  Name:

  Email:

  Message:

2. You need to comment the "config.frameworks -= [ :action_mailer ]"
line in environment.rb to make the mailer work.

3. If you want the "blob" to work you also need to create an "email"
page part with "".

well, i'm sure that if you follow the instructions on the blog or the

Everything is working except that the submitted information just isn't
getting into the form_datas table. I just don't know what else to do.
I have reinstalled these extensions 3 times now and while the Mailer
works, the information just isn't getting saved. I don't know which
part of the database_mailer extension intercepts that information, but
it's not working for me.

This is the transaction that's taking place when the form is submitted:

Processing SiteController#show_page (for 70.238.72.121 at 2009-05-21

"mailer"=>{"church"=>" kljh k", "name"=>"lklkjshdglkh",
"subject"=>"test email", "graduation_year"=>"769876", "school"=>"kjh h
jh", "email"=>"pixeln...@gmail.com"}, "controller"=>"site"}

Completed in 0.41906 (2 reqs/sec) | DB: 0.00283 (0%) | 302 Found

I don't understand where it is breaking. It worked for me once, and I
cannot get it working again.

This is the problem.. that "save_to_database: false".

There's no need to put it on true, it's true by default, so just
delete that line in the "mailer" part for the email forms you don't
want to log in DB_mailer.

What I said was that line was never in my mailer part.

I never had the "save_to_database: false" line in my mailer part.
Could I somehow force it to save to the database with
"save_to_database: true"?

Did you had the extension working on any version lower than 0.7.1?

I never tried it before this.

I am reinstalling the mailer and database_mailer extensions from
scratch now to see if that helps.

I am having trouble getting the emails sent with the mailer extension
to be logged by the database_mailer extension. The emails get sent
out, but they aren't saved. Does anybody have this working in 0.7.1?
If so, could you point me to the site where you have it working properly?

Thanks,

Nate

Re: [Radiant] MissingSourceFile in Admin/membersController#index

2009-03-26 Thread Cristi Duma

I think probably you misunderstood the configuration

MEMBER_LOGIN_PATH is the URL for the login form of your website. The
site user will be able to login from this page

MEMBER_HOME_PATH - is the default home for logged in members. The site
user will be redirected to this page after he logs in. But this page
is not necessarily the site home page.

MEMBERS_ROOT - all the pages that have this as parent will require
member login.

My advice is to create a new test project... bootstrap the project,
and choose the "styled blog" option. This option we used when we
created the extension.

Don't have time right now to take a closer look, but..

no 2: need to install the "fastercsv" gem

no 1: the login credentials are always email and password, even though
you create some other attributes for a member.

will look closer a little later if you can't make it work
