That sounds like exactly the same problem as me and I created a bug for
it which was marked as a duplicate of the bug I posted in this thread
earlier. But if you're sure it's not related, I hope you find what is
causing it soon.

(and I mean -everything-). someone probably gave the factory a lot more

Huh? You started a thread about this already, and Logitech said it's a
typo and will fix it. The warranty is 2 years.

Yes Radish, I am not sure who said theyed fix it and I trust you but do
you represent logitech? So, can you tell me why they have NOT fixed it?
I have not been told by anyone official that the warranty is 2 years
parts and labor. Do you think that is interesting that this very
important error stating that the warranty: 1 year hardware has NOT
been changed AND there is no users manual available online for the SB
Radio stating clearly what is the warranty. I think that if Logitech
knows this is inaccurate then they should change this important consumer
guarantee asap to avoid misunderstandings both ways.

What do you think Radish?

I love the SB system and I want everyone to be happy. I also think
Logitech needs to be made aware of this error. I don't want to belabor
the point but it has not been fixed yet and it clearly states 1 year
warranty hardware

without a single problem.

That's a misleading quote. It is indisputable that there are bugs and
design flaws in the Radio regarding the MYSB connection. I just noted
that the problems arising from these flaws and bugs might happen more
often under certain circumstances like a data center or dynamic IP
addresses.

That is just an assumption though as I would expect there would have
been an uprising already if the Radio worked as erratic for the American
customers as it does for me and other people in other countries.

Anyway it would be really helpful if the developers would finally agree
that these issues are existing instead of closing the according bug
reports.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SB radio playing without PC

2009-11-20 Thread Jeepie

Hi Sidhue,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you on this one. I went off red
faced and checked on my old Squeezebox 2 and found that you are
absolutely correct. I didn't actually realise how good the
mysqueezebox.com functionality was. The only slight concern I had is
that if your computer is off, you have to repoint your SB to use the
networking for the squeezebox.com. But the Music Source option makes
this easy so I'm sure my wife could do it.

Yrs (slightly red faced)

Too bad they didn't design it to take standard NiMH batteries (and not
recharge them) as well as it's own pack which it would of course
recharge. I don't know how long it will last on the 10 NiMHs but at
least there would be a fallback in situations where no pack is available
or if it's dead, etc.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio and Best Buy

2009-11-20 Thread jdoering

I got mine at my local Best Buy. Like others; they use to have a nice
display but the Sony stuff is in that place now. I would never have
found the Radios and Booms had I not been specifically looking. But they
were out on the shelves in the general electronics section.

But the stuff was out and available. They had no problem with my
exchange for stuck pixels (as expected for a retail purchase) and
credited me the difference for the new sales price - so overall I'm
happy with the local purchase and service.

I'm surprised they talk openly about end cap payments ending and such;
I would think they'd want to keep the backend wheeling and dealing
separate from customer interactions.

Despite all of the discussion about squeezeboxes for everyday Joe; I
wonder if retail channels like this are the best route for Logitech
anyway. I'd tend to think Amazon sales and other online routes would be
there biggest opportunity. Maybe I'm way off base but I imagine a lot of
squeezebox purchases happening as planned out acquisition by somewhat
tech-savvy buyers rather than off the shelf impulse buys.

What the heck is Amazon up to? They dropped the black again but the red
went back up to $197 (from $165). Darn it - I was getting ready to order
a second one in red. The $15 spread for color I could live with; but $57
is hard to stomach!

I think I'll just wait now and see how this pricing thing rides out.
Hopefully it won't all be back up to $200 in a few weeks!
