I am hoping it will come down more than this. There have been two
reports (from Canada and Norway), of their cost to be down to about
£90.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Firmware upgrade?

2010-02-15 Thread Sleepless

My radio still runs 7.4.1 and is having wireless issues.

How do I upgrade to 7.4.2 or beyond? The radio does not seem to detect
that there's a new version around. Is there?

Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you!

The SB players get their FW Updates from the server (SBS running on
your computer or MySB.com online).
Until you update your server to 7.4.2 your Radio won't get a FW
Update.
When 7.4.2 is officially released then they will update the FW on
MySB.com so your Radio can update when it connects to MySB.com.

In the mean time you can install Squeezebox Server 7.4.2 on your
network, connect Radio to this server, wait until it notices the new fw
available (can take a while). After this, you can remove the Squeezebox
Server from your computer if you just want to use mysb.com. That's what
I did.

the simplest way of getting access to those. Thanks!

I'm not sure where the Radio forgetting Presets issue is at right now,
I presume the 7.4.2 SBS version is dealing with it better.

But if it's just five station streams then I'd suggest adding these to
your Favorites (SBS and/or MySB.com) and just navigate to Favorites to
play them.
This way, regardless of Preset issues, they are all easily accessible
via SB player Favorites.

And not to miss another big advantage of SBS: You have it in your own
hand if and when it is working. Logitech has/had some issues with their
MYSB.COM services, so that your squeezebox could be unusable at these
times!

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm Failure - any ideas why?

2010-02-15 Thread Skier

I suffered a failed alarm this morning for the first time. I'm running
v7.4.1 from a NAS that is on 24/7. I have an alarm that is set to play
a radio station at 06:30 Monday to Friday. This morning, despite being
correctly set and displaying correctly it failed to go off. It had
worked faultlessly up to this point.

Any ideas?

Regards

You need:
1. a free www.MySqueezeBox.com account
2. a Pandora account
3. install the Pandora App on your MySB.com account from App Gallery
4. enter your Pandora account login info on this App (configure App)

If you want Pandora on your SBS server make sure:
1. that your MySB.com login info is in SBS Settings
MySqueezeBox.com
2. go to SBS My Apps Pandora

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm Failure - any ideas why?

2010-02-15 Thread tcutting

Is it possible to run v7.4.2 on your NAS? A lot of work has gone into
improving the alarm reliability, but that work has gone into the 7.4.2
(and 7.5?) versions of the software. v7.4.2 is quite stable overall,
and is being readied for the next release.

If your server is on 24x7 there is no reason whatsoever to connect
explicitly to mysb.com. You can get all the mysb.com services via SBS,
and many fewer connection headaches.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SBR only playing part of the track

2010-02-15 Thread diveganesh

i've had the same issue with the radio over wireless (sb server running
on a mac though). my sb classic plays just fine, the radio plays about
40s of one song, goes back to the beginning of the song and loops
on

i reset factory settings on the radio, reinstalled the firmware and
rebooted the computer on which the sb server was running.

seems to have fixed the issue for now, not sure which of the above did
it, i suspect it was the reboot of the computer.
