Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Clock sometimes has a graduated background
There is a clock screensaver with a graduated gray background. I believe its the default 'stopped' screensaver and just named 'Digital Clock' in the screensaver setting. If your screensaver setting is set to use a different clock, then I'm going to guess the reason is the same as for about 9/10 of the gremlins people are seeing with player settings being randomly changed - mysqueezebox.com syncing problems. -- JJZolx Jim JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77588 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Some of the player settings are stored on the server side. You can use my SettingsManager plugin (see below) to save the current Radio's server settings to a "custom group", and then copy those custom settings to the new one. But many settings -- sound effects, screensavers, etc. -- are stored on the Radio itself. Right now there's no good way to copy those. They're generally stored on the Radio under /etc/squeezeplay/userpath, and you *can* copy them on/off the device with a SCP client like WinSCP after you enable Remote Login. At least the /etc/squeezeplay/userpath/settings/SlimDiscovery.lua file has a reference to the local player's hardware network interface MAC address, so I wouldn't copy that one from old to new. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ Free plugins: 'AllQuiet' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AllQuiet.html) 'Auto Dim/AutoDisplay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AutoDisplay.html) 'BlankSaver' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BlankSaver.html) 'ContextMenu' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/ContextMenu.html) 'DenonSerial' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/DenonSerial.html) 'FuzzyTime' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/FuzzyTime.html) 'KidsPlay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KidsPlay.html) 'KitchenTimer' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KitchenTimer.html) 'PlayLog' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PlayLog.html) 'PowerCenter/BottleRocket' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PowerCenter.html) 'SaverSwitcher' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SaverSwitcher.html) 'SettingsManager' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SettingsManager.html) 'SleepFade' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SleepFade.html) 'StatusFirst' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/StatusFirst.html) 'SyncOptions' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SyncOptions.html) 'VolumeLock' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/VolumeLock.html) peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77567 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] 2 Alarm bugs in 7.50 - Please read and vote!
I originally explained this bug in a thread with a different topic, but after I sorted some things out, the original topic wasn't valid anymore. For all people with 7.50 or 7.51 firmware, here are two bugs to try out: * Alarm fade doesn't work if you continue your last heard radio station as an alarm * 1. Play your favourite radio station using mysqueezebox.com 2. Set an alarm using this specific station as the alarm tone 3. Turn off the radio and wait for the alarm 4. It will not fade, but start with normal volume instead. It looks like it just tries to continue your last played station, because it was set as the most recent playlist. If you clear this playlist before the alarm fires, fading will work. It will also fade if you select a different station for your alarm then the one you last played. Please vote for this bug at: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16054 * Alarm time from 0:00 to 00:59 cannot be set * When you set up the alarm, there is no 00:xx, instead 24:xx is shown. But when you enter anything between 24:00 and 24:59, the alarm gets deleted afterwards. So, it's not possible to get an alarm in the hour after midnight. Please vote for this bug at: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16087#c0 Thanks! Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio pre-purchase questions
Thanks for your help, point 1 being the answer I wanted to hear, which means I'll almost certainly get one soon, then. Being reasonably Linux capable, point 2 sounds interesting (and doesn't scare me ;) ), I'll look into that further (the new Squeezeplay based devices such as the SBR and Touch are proper low-powered computers running Linux under the covers right, whereas the SB1/2/3/Boom/Transporter are effectively dumb devices with not much computing capability other than music stream decompression, right?) On that basis, you should be able to customise the new devices to quite an extent? WRT to point 3, the plan is for local music only, though web radio doesn't bother me particularly, the Apps function, Facebook specifically, does. This is what I want control over, mostly. "Parental Controls" or the concept of admin and non-admin access to the device, would be ideal... [SlimDevices: Radio] Firmware Upgrades
I've experienced some changes in behavior over the last several weeks. I'm just curious if this is normal. First, up until what appeared to be a major firmware upgrade, my SBR connection dropped consistently and didn't reconnect. The upgrade fixed that and everything worked fine for a few weeks. Then within the last week, the screen savers stopped working. Not a big deal but it seemed to affect the "sleep" function. That was very annoying. Now, within the last day or so, the screen saver functions all seem to be back to normal and the sleep function is also working well. I also notice something I had not noticed before and that is a setting for "Beta" functions which includes remapping of the SBR buttons (so, for example, one can set the sleep function without going through all of the menus). Have there been minor upgrades happening after the major firmware upgrade. The SBR shows it is running 7.5.0 V8673 Thanks for your help. -- ciarmer ciarmer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37631 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77545 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
