[SlimDevices: Radio] Can't listen to World Cup Broadcasts

2010-07-07 Thread strt

Hi

I am trying to listen to the World Cup broadcasts on radio 5, however I
get a "unfortunately the rights do not allow for this program to be
broadcast"

However, I can listen to them on my laptop on the same internet
connection. How can I resolve this issue?

I use presets and have had similar problems. What I found helpful is to
turn SBRadio on with the power button, then hit the preset. At this
point I see at the lower left screen the square stop icon is showing.
If I stop here the Radio usually goes off but if I press play (right
arrow) it usually stays on. Occasionally, after hitting play it will
show the pause icon in the lower left screen and turn off but hitting
play again will restore it.

So, power on/preset/play. Has anybody else noticed the stop or pause
icons present when the Radio shuts off?

Looks like your server is refusing a connection...

Looked at the logs on your server?

Looks like it is crashing and restarting. Perhaps a virus scanner is
poking at your database files and making MySQL mad.

One other thing ,since you may be a newbie, DO NOT believe everything
you read on this forum from a minority of unhappy posters. Formulate
your own opinion. I believe much of the problems that a few people have
with the Squeezeboxes are user-generated. I ,personally, LOVE the
Squeeze system.

Let us know how you feel about it after you learn its functionality by
asking a lot of questions. There are loads of people who "know their
stuff" and can help. It is complex but very cool!

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Problems since upgrading from 7.4.x to 7.5.x

2010-07-07 Thread lightman

No - it happens both while power plugged in and on battery. It actually
connects for a few seconds and then disconnects. I've not had any
problems with other devices on that wifi access point. I just did a
check of what wifi channels are currently in use around me and
reconfigured my access point to try to avoid conflicts, but still have
the same problem. I've not ever used the alarm.

I did just find the SSH option and connected in and looked through
/var/log/messages. I get this same basic pattern repeating over and
over - about every 10 seconds.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Is there any solution to the disappearing preset bug?

2010-07-07 Thread gweempose

I recently got my wife a Radio to use in the bathroom. To make it easier
for her, I set the presets to her favorite Sirius channels and one local
channel. This morning, my wife came downstairs and wanted to know where
all her presets went. A quick search of this forum revealed that this
is a known issue that is affecting many users. Has anyone come up with
a solution? For the record, I am using the latest 7.5.2 nightly build
of Squeezebox Server.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Can IR receiver be disabled?

2010-07-07 Thread Philip Meyer

There's an easier way: use Erland's Patch manager addon.

This provides a mechanism for applying patches on the Squeezeplay
player. There is a patch to disable IR remote.

The benefit is that these patches can be automatically applied after
firmware updates, and you can enable/disable the patches at any time
(so if you want to use IR Remote one day, you can re-enable it at the
player by unticking the patch in the addon).

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Can IR receiver be disabled?

2010-07-07 Thread Soulkeeper

Thanks for the guide. (The relevant bug is now 'bug 14718'
(http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14718) if anybody wants to
go vote.)

A little bit more detailed *Instructions (primarily aimed at Windows
users):*

Enable SSH login on the Radio, using the interface on the Radio:
SETTINGS -> ADVANCED -> REMOTE LOGIN -> ENABLE SSH

Find the Radio's IP address. Either in
SQUEEZEBOX SERVER -> SETTINGS -> INFORMATION
or in the Radio user interface
SETTINGS -> ADVANCED -> DIAGNOSTICS

Using 'PuTTY' (http://www.putty.org/), connect to the Radio's IP
address (use the default settings in PuTTY). Login with username *root*
and password *1234*.

After that, run the commands provided by gdpeck:

> *mv /usr/share/jive/jive/irMap_default.lua /
> /usr/share/jive/jive/irMap_default.lua.old* to rename the
> file.
>
> *ls /usr/share/jive/jive* to verify that the
> irMap_default.lua.old is in the folder and that you didn't make any
> typos.
>
> *reboot*

Quit PuTTY, and you're done.

If you are using Safari open the downloads window (Select the following
