Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Volume button increase by multiple steps, possible

This post proves more about you than you probably intended it to.

Do you really not think they gave a lot of thought to the volume
response curve, bearing in mind the likely use of the radio as
something you would have quite close to your ear - at night - where
sudden changes in level are NOT required.

The people who developed the hardware AND software have more knowledge
of the tech behind the science of audio (whatever the heck that
means) than most people, clearly including you.

Well 23 years in the audio business working and designing top of the
range audio desks and having done many tests on such devices gives me a
bit of an edge.

What's your qualification in such matters?

We hear on a Logarithmic scale. We have had Log pots in radios since
they were commercially available. The SB Touch is linear.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Suddenly some station are becoming not playable ????

2010-09-03 Thread Vectorz

In the past week I've had several stations that are suddenly giving me
the following error: Search results(not playable) These are very
large established radio stations, not some small market station. I have
been listening to them for more than 9 months and find it quite odd that
they would start showing the same error.

Any thoughts, or others that this is happening to?

Were these saved as Favorites and now won't play?
If so, find them again from the Radio's menu's and see if they play
from there.
Stations often change their URL's. Or they may have recently changed
their stream format (was MP3, now AAC).

I use the iPeng app for my iPhone to access the stations. One was saved
as a favorite, the other was not. I did try searching for a fresh url
and got the same error. The other stations are working fine...?
