Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] any easy shortcut to cancel the alarm??

2010-09-08 Thread valentine

hmm, but I thought even when the radio is turned off, it will be woken
up by the alarm?
If not, it would still be nice to have an easy way (1 button push) to
cancel a single alarm (for the current day only).
Anyway, I think it should be possible to set and change alarm times
faster and easier. I'm always irritated by seeing the progress display
while the radio connects to the network (?), when I want to do nothing
but change the alarm time by 5 minutes...

In the Radio's menu, choose My music.

If you're connected to MySqueezebox.com it will now try to discover
your Squeezebox Server. If it doesn't it means you're already connected
to SBS.

Personally, I add the radio stations I like as Favourites, and access
them from the Favourites menu.

The radio actually has a 'real' off unlike other SB's... the reason is
simple: if you're taking it on vacation and pack it in your suitcase,
do you really want it waking up and playing music in the cargo hold?
(Remember the Radio can have batteries...) Or just have it running
down the batteries on the trip to keep track of time?

In 'real off' (hold the power button down), it is really off -- there
is no power or battery usage.

Pressing the power button normally puts it into the 'off screensaver'
mode, which isn't really off at all, just not playing music and using a
different screensaver.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] any easy shortcut to cancel the alarm??

2010-09-08 Thread Soulkeeper

I've been wondering about that detail, btw. I've read that the Radio can
sound the (backup) alarm even if the power fails, as long as it has a
battery installed. But if the battery powered Radio turns real off
after 20 minutes on standby, to preserve battery, how can it wake up in
time to sound the alarm?

2010-09-08 Thread bluegaspode

As said - if you can browse the 'My Music' menu then you are connected
to your local Squeezebox-Server.
If your iPhone is connected via WLAN to your local network it will
'see' your server too and you'll be able to control your Radio from
there.

If the 'InternetRadio'-Menu is missing you should look into the WebUI
(http://servername:9000/) and there on the settings-screen if you
entered your MySqueezebox.com credentials.

2010-09-08 Thread toby10

My guess is that your Radio is connected to SBS on your computer, but
SBS is not setup with your MySB.com account, so the Internet Radio menu
items are missing.

SBS web UI Settings MySqueezeBox.com enter your MySB login ID and
password Save.

But just a guess. :)

Do you intend to use the Radio for your local music files on your
computer?
Or just Internet Radio and Music Services?
Or both?

All three groups have been mailed. All group 1 have received their
Accessory Paks (Including Australia). From replies, Group 2 started
receiving the Accessory Pak today. So they are either still at customs
or in the local Canada mail system for delivery IE not much longer.

*Cancel my previous compliment*. False alarm. It's still acting flaky.

(How does Apple get away with making complicated gadgets that just
plain work? Squeezeboxes could be fantastically popular too, if they
just worked as expected out-of-the-box.)

Squeezebox Radio, hardware 5, firmware r9009 - eccentric UI, erratic
firmware.
(Replaces Roku Soundbridge Radio, RIP - excellent UI, egregious
hardware.)
Roku Soundbridge M1001 - needs periodic reboot, otherwise excellent.
Linksys WRT54G with DD-WRT and OpenDNS.
PC n/a - turned off at night when I use Squeezebox Radio. Therefore,
I'm using mysqueezebox.com. Pray for me.

I'm not here to annoy you. When the Radio starts working predictably,
I'll go away happy.
