[SlimDevices: Radio] on poweron resume last station
Hi Is it possible for the SBradio to start @ the last station it's been playing.. So like a normal radio.. I turn it on, and it starts playing.. without me having to click on 'now playing' and 'Play' to start the last station I listened to? -- Symbiot Symbiot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38746 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84546 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

I am not one of the experts on these forums. As an idea though, perhaps since you are in a small apartment, you may be experiencing interferences with other neighbor's wireless settings. Maybe by changing your routers settings (channels) could help you or moving your router's location away from potential interferences. Just a thought. netstumbler or similar programs to survey the surroundings. There is an ever better app that also list non wifi things in the same ranges. Can not find it right now. I'm gradually moving to wired as I have 14 neighbors with wifi. 2006 it was 2 . So you don't have to do something to get it this way, wifi is simply so many factors outside ones control . But I have to stress the piont that squeeboxes relies on your networks performance and also your skills with said network. The competition Sons do away with much off it by having their own networking , but it cost you . And this only twarts setup fubar from end users outside disturbance would kill the sonos system too. -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH and assorted amps SiriuS, Classe' Primare and Dynadio speakers, Contour 4 Contour Center, and Contour 1.3SE rear ch. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] zune
I too would love to see some sort of Zune Pass integration. Currently I'm using the wavinput plug-in to capture and stream, but it's not super ideal as you need to initiate playback from the PC and you don't get songnames/coverart. As far as I can tell the server needs to be able to read the licences. At the moment only WMP, WMC or the actual Zune software will open the files. -- Mod74 Mod74's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39010 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75848 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] on poweron resume last station
Is there a reason that you're hard-powering off the radio, rather than letting it display the clock (soft-power off/leaving it in standby)? I believe there's an option in SB Server that can have it auto-resume when powered on, but I believe that only holds for soft-power on/resume from standby... -- virgiliomi virgiliomi's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33715 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84546 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Expecting too much?
I think I might have discovered what could be causing the radios to sync but not have sound outputting on some radios. I will control playback via the radios but also via various android and iOS apps (squeeze commander, squeezedroid, ipeng, squeezepad). It seems anytime I use a mobile app or the SB web interface to control playback I instantly have issues with one or more of the radios. I've also noticed the app (like squeeze commander v0.9.5.1) says playing when music is indeed playing, but the playback status icon shows play instead of pause. This probably sounds like a bunch of babble, but maybe this will help someone else having issues with radios not playing sound. It's possible controllers could be causing the issue. I don't seem to have any issues when controlling playback via one of the radio's controls. PS: I did a wifi analysis some time ago and am on the least congested channel. -- jk12 jk12's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34566 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83739 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] zune
Ahh I see. From trying XBMC and Muso just now they won't play the Zune files either, so it kinda looks like I'm (we are) stuck with one of the MS players and the wavin plug-in for now. Realistically I should just be grateful I've got that option thanks to bpa et al. Would be awesome if the Squeeze developers would be able to include the secret handshake in the firmware, but MS being MS and record companies being record companies it seems unlikely. -- Mod74 Mod74's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39010 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75848 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

0xdeadbeef;599861 Wrote: While I don't like Apple at all, I fail to imagine they will be incapable of fixing this bug in more than a year. As said previously, it's all about priorities, as long as everyone with the problem doesn't call Logitech support and complain about it, it's more important for them to fix the problems which people do call the support and complain about. I do realize that it shouldn't be very hard for Logitech to look in the community forum and even their own forum to realize that they have a problem, but apparently they have chosen to more or less ignore the forums so far. I'm pretty sure it helps if everyone with the problem call support. The reason is that it do take up their time and the problem gets more visible to management since it means they have to increase the support staff to be able to handle all the support calls. Increasing the support staff means increasing the support costs and this gets visible to management and makes them prioritize doing something to solve the problem. So even if the support staff isn't going to be able to help individual users, it's going to help if a lot of users call them. I know it's frustrating and I know it really shouldn't be needed but the history clearly shows that just complaining in the community forum and their standard forum doesn't help. I think we need to realize that Logitech doesn't work the same way as Slim Devices. Slim Devices was all about interacting with the community to figure out what's most important while Logitech clearly just understand the economics. It's hard for them to prove that they would sell a lot more Radio's with a reliable alarm, so I think we need to focus on increasing the costs for them if they keep ignore it. The best (only?) way to do that and make it visible is to ensure their support costs are increased by taking up the time of their support staff. Logitech has very competent engineers, so it's not a matter of being incapable of fixing it, it's a matter of not prioritizing fixing it. If they prioritized to fix it they would have done it by now. I wonder if it's soon time for someone in the community to start implementing a third party Reliable Server Independent Alarm applet... The question is just if the people with problems would be satisfied with a third party solution ? To get it reliable it would have to be limited to the music that's available locally on the Radio, completely server independent. So maybe making it possible to upload a short MP3 with the alarm signal you want to the Radio and use that always when triggering the alarm. There isn't much disk space left on the persistent storage on the Radio, so it's going to be limited but making it possible to choose your own sound instead of the standard fallback alarm sound might be an improvement. When you are awake it can offer you the option to switch to playing music the normal way. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland). I think we would all love a recommended duct tape solution from Logitech, a duct tape solution is preferred over not having any recommended solution at all. As far as I know, Logitech has not recommended that running a local server solves the problem, they haven't even admitted that they do have a problem after the initial bug fixing which you and Marc was involved in.
