Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] More Wi-fi problems
I have a Touch, Boom and Radio. My Radio won't hold the wifi signal from 10ft in the same room as the router. Meanwhile the boom holds the signal forever and it's in a garage, whcih is out in my backyard and not attached to the house. The radio picks up the wifi signal, will play music or radio for 7-10 mins, then the small wireless indicator at the bottom right of the screen goes red and I can't pick up my wireless signal or the unsecured signal from across the street although both are visible along with a number of others. I called support yesterday and they will send a replacement. So you were not the only one to get a bust one. -- cathcam cathcam's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43414 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85016 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm issue...
At least in the last week most alarm bugs on bugzilla were set to priority one for the 7.6 release. So there is a little bit of hope back maybe. What Radio-Station are you using? If it's BBC maybe try something completely different. Could you share your log-files from your Radio? I'm wondering if it's really the radio-stream - if it started already then normally MySB.com shouldn't have much influence. You can access your logs if you enable remote access to your Radio (Advanced Settings). Then use the program 'WinSCP' to connect to your Radio and download the file /var/log/messages. Then we might get some better insight into what exactly is going wrong. -- bluegaspode Big Screen for great Boxes available now at your AppStore: *'Squeezebox + iPad = SqueezePad ' (www.squeezepad.com)* - -now featuring streaming to iPad!- Want to see a Weather Forecast on your Radio/Touch/Controller ? => why not try my 'Weather Forecast Applet' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73827) Want to use the Headphones with your Controller ? => why not try my 'Headphone Switcher Applet' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67139) Setup: 1x SB-Controller+Receiver (Duet), 1xSB-Boom. 2xSB-Radio Server (7.5.1) running on SheevaPlug (Ubuntu) with attached Western Digital MyBook Essential. bluegaspode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31651 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85020 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm issue...
As mysqueezebox.com seems to be more robust, I have decided to use alarms... Now I have a different behavior : At 7:00 the radio stream begins to play during a few second (about 5 sec.) and then the backup alarm stars to play. I have tried with another radio streams but it is the same. So I wonder who uses alarm and how can it work. I have read that the radio "thinks" that the stream is not goog so the back up alarm plays, but I can listen the radio I have choosen to wake up. will it be fixed one day ? Alarm seems to be a problem. -- sSNICKERSs sSNICKERSs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20135 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85020 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] More Wi-fi problems
I got the squeeze radio. Hooked it up to wi-fi and it ran! 10 min later the wi-fi conncection and it was obvious that I wasn't going to get it back up. Called Logitech. Answered immediately. Amazed. In English. Told me how to reset it. Unplug, press the + and then replug. Start over from scratch. Pain redoing the security wifi number. Worked for 3 days then no wi-fi anywhere even next to the router. Laptop gets wifi. Logitech said it is a bad unit. Am returning to Crutchfield's and they say they will send another unit even before the old one gets back. So the question: I suspect there have been a lot of Wi-Fi difficulties but some are not having many. So did I just get a bad one or is the latest firmware screwed up or do I wait for the next model if the second one I am getting also turns out to be also a wi-fi disaster? I know I am getting ahead of myself, assuming the 2nd one might have problems too. At least Crutchfield's is good about replacing or refunding. But when I paid $125 shipped, maybe I should have thought this is too good to be true. I like the concept, price, etc., but without wi-fi forget. I ain't runnin' cable to my kitchen from my office where the router is and 25 feet should not be too far for a router and one suggestion that the cordless phone may be interfering doesn't cut it as an excuse since at least phones are smart enough to get around that problem and this product should be smart enough too. Use another frequency. So did I just get a bad one? Or is the problem more with the product design? -- brycej brycej's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43402 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85016 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio/Volume Control Inoperative
I've not experienced either of these issues either. Something you can try for the volume control issue... if the knob isn't changing the volume, try setting it through the web interface (i.e. log into MySqueezebox.com or your local SB server if you're using that) with your browser. Admittedly, the volume setting isn't quite as granular (10 or 11 steps, versus 100), but if you can change the volume setting through the web interface with no problem, then it could very well be a hardware issue. -- virgiliomi home: sb boom and duet sb server 7.5.2 on a readynas ultra 2 plus work: sb radio connected to mysqueezebox.com virgiliomi's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33715 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84992 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Playing 'All Songs' by an Artist
No your not missing something this how sbs works select an artist > all songs and now press play , don't go into that directory. Now you will hear all songs. Sorted alphabetically If you go into the "all song" listing and play you hear the one song you are pointing at. Another way is to press play when at the artist level then all albums with that artist will be cued up alphabetically. Playing all songs in an album after you choose a specific song in that album is in fact an exception it's setting you can choose to have it that way. This exception works for albums or playlists. Otherwise sbs very consequently plays what you are choosing. You can "play" artists albums songs playlists genres years and it plays what you choose. it has some sanity cheeks so it wont play my music or all genres (cueing up the whole collection) -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH and assorted amps SiriuS, Classe' Primare and Dynadio speakers, Contour 4 Contour Center, and Contour 1.3SE rear ch. [SlimDevices: Radio] Playing 'All Songs' by an Artist
If I select an album by an artist and select the first track it plays and then plays all the subsequent tracks in that album - as it should. However, if I select 'All Songs' by a particular artist and select the first track it only plays that track, it doesn't then continue to play them all - why not?
