Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio battery technical info
I bought the original Logitech pack for a quite different reason: I simply found it very difficult (in Norway) to obtain high quality batteries at a low enough price to justify the extra work of soldering everything together myself. The original battery cost perhaps 10% or 20% more than the best pirate pack I could assemble myself, provided I could order all the pirate parts in one shipment to save on the shipping costs. Which it turned out, I couldn't. When I also considered the risk of blowing the warranty, and/or blowing the Radio itself, the choice was pretty clear. -- Soulkeeper -that is not dead which can eternal lie. and with strange aeons even death may die.- touch + duet + boom + radio / wrt160n/dd-wrt / sbs 7.5.1 or higher/win7(32b)/avira free Soulkeeper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35297 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87318 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Mark Miksis;628035 Wrote: Settings-Player-Audio-Power On Resume Is it just me or did this stop working with the last update? As Mark says, this is what you should normally change (from your SqueezeServer web page) to get the behaviour you want. Set it to Stop at power off / Restart song at power on, although why this is not the default behaviour for a product marketed as a radio I have no idea. However as of yesterday, post applying the latest update, even this has stopped working for me when listening to BBC channels. I now have to remember to hit play from standby to get what would be normal behaviour for any other radio on the planet. It's really not helping me sell this thing to the wife. -- duttonst duttonst's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=46142 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87330 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Sounds like his wireless network is using WEP encription while your network is using WPA/WPA2. [SlimDevices: Radio] Listening to any talk show on demand on your Squeezebox
We're beta testing a new service called which operates like a Tivo for radio and we want to invite Squeezebox users to try it out. Using this service you can record radio shows and music station broadcasts to be recorded and then listen to them on demand with your Squeezebox. It operates like a DVR, but for radio content instead of TV content. As with a DVR you can time shift content and skip commercials/segments you're not interested in. It is free to use and the show guide has thousands of popular and obscure shows to choose from. The service is called http://www.DAR.fm and here's how you can try it: 1) Go to DAR.fm and search for either a show name or station. When you locate what you want click the Record button (it's the red circle). 2) Either create an account or login with your existing account. PLEASE NOTE: If you have a MP3tunes account then simply use those credentials. 3) Go to mysqueezebox.com and add the MP3tunes app to your device. Be sure and select Put icon on home page for easy access. You will need to enter the same credentials you used in step #2. 4) After each recording you should receive an email letting you know that it recorded. Go to your Squeezebox and select the MP3tunes icon and then select Playlists. In this list you should see a playlist containing your recording. It should being with DAR. Select it and enjoy radio goodness! TIP: You can pause content with the pause button. If you want to rew/ff then hold down the rew/ff button until a progress bar appears. Then release the button. Press and hold it again and you'll see the timer advance or rewind. Release it when you've moved the desired time. Please give it a try. Email any feedback to me: mich...@michaelrobertson.com. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio Drops Streams, disappears constantly --- SB3s are good
OK no replies yet. Here is some more information from testing. If I take the SBR and put it right next to the SB3 -- this is the comparative reception: SB3: 92% SBR: 81% In this location the reception is acceptable and seems to work OK so far (limited streaming testing so far). But clearly the Squeezbox Radio has very weak WiFi receptionperhaps the antenna arrangement internally is sub optimal in comparison with the Classic. Any takers? Now if I bring the SBR right next to the AP 5ft away in the same room, I do get 100% signal on it. So it is capable of getting good signal...just not nearly to the extend of the Classic. This impacts its usability and range as a WiFi connected player in my home. Or does anyone feel that this unit is faulty and the SB3 and SBR should have similar RF performance signature? Regardlessit is going backI just am not sure if I should try another or get my $$ back. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio Drops Streams, disappears constantly --- SB3s are good
I've had good luck with my Radio wireless. Most of my players are wired, but my Radio is not. My Radio isn't very near my access point, and since it has batteries it is often taken fairly far from the access point. Without noting actual signal strenght readings from the UI, its wireless seems to be on par with my Boom (which I used to run in similar locations wireless as well), maybe a bit better. You may have a bad unit, or there may be some interference source which for whatever reason doesn't clobber you SB3 as bad. -- tcutting tcutting's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17402 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87339 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
