Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio Drops Streams, disappears constantly --- SB3s are good

Please do let me know if that works. I had two problems as outlined in the thread above. The first one was relating to the Squeezebox Server dropping the SBR connection and the current playlist being out of sync what is actually playing. This seems to be resolved by downgrading to 7.5.1. The 2nd problem of poor wifi performance: a combination of poor RF performance of the SBR (as compared to its SB3 cousins) -- and my relatively noisy WiFi environment. I purchased a TP-Link AP/Bridge: 1) Used as a bridge.I got my single strength up significantly ...and things are 98% good. Proving again, the SBR wifi is..well suboptimal. But with 3 Squeezeboxes and numerous other devices (PCs, phones, iPADs) on the same frequency ...there were times where congestion was starting to hurt the SBR. 2) I converted the TP-Link to AP mode...and setup another SSID (802.11n) in a non-overlapping extreme end of the frequency choices (which happened to be the cleanest channel anyways). Extremely surprisingly, the SBR consistently continued to drop connections -- once every 3 or 4 hours. Then I remembered what another post discussed, as implausible as it may seem to set the AP to 802.11g mode only -- as the SBR has issues with "n". I always understood this to be backward compatiblebut I tried it knowing the many surprises the SBR has had for me so far. So farrunning a 802.11g AP keeps the SBR holding on ...so far for 48 hours. So this seems to work. Time will tell. Regardless...I am not happy with the radio performance or overall quality of the Squeezebox Server/SBR integration. But when it is working... it is nice...just not with the time and $$ I have invested. -- jt25741 SB3->AR Masters Coax -> PS Audio DLIII (Cullen L3) -> Cardas Golden Reference XLR -> Sim Audio P-5 -> Cardas Golden Reference XLR -> Sim Audio W-5 -> Cardas Golden Reference Hi-Mid,PS Audio Xstream Plus Low-> Magnepan 3.6R jt25741's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8645 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87339 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] Changing the volume level of the fallback alarm
I've heard it mentioned that there is a way to lower the volume level of the fallback alarm but I can't find the post. Currently my alarm volume is set to 20 which is perfect for the Internet radio streams I want to wake up to. The problem is all too often the fallback kicks in and its volume level is much louder than the 20 that the internet streams play at. Is there a way to lower the fallback level relative to the alarm level? Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] 'queue' up a station to listen to
it has worked (only very occasionally) as intended eg if listening to one station it tunes and plays the alarm station at the given time. but i must stress this is not the norm. more often it will just tune to the station and play nothing ('stop' button showing). this also happens when sometimes it will show the 'alarm screen' play nothing for 10secs or so and then play a random inbuilt tune that fades in even though 'fade in' is not selected! i set the alarms when connected via mysqueezebox.com but have tried via the server aswell but to no avail :( could the problem be something to do with if the unit is taking too long to tune into a station (as some take longer to tune than others via mysqueezebox.com) it throws out the alarm station and will play the random tune mentioned above as an alarm? -- alphabetagaga alphabetagaga's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=46444 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87661 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] 'queue' up a station to listen to
So much for expectations :-( I'm curious -- if you set the alarm does it work okay if the Radio is not already playing something? I realize that is not what you are aiming to do, but just trying to see if it is a general problem with the alarm (which many people have) or something specific to your particular application. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87661 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
