Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] I only get to Snooze

2011-08-17 Thread Soulkeeper

I like the new insensitivity. Now I can snooze by giving the Radio a
slap without looking, and I don't have to worry about turning the alarm
off any more.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Push snooze - time before it happens

2011-08-17 Thread Soulkeeper

You can turn it off with the off button. I find the decreased
sensitivity of the knob far more user-friendly than before, because I
don't have to worry about accidentally disabling the alarm.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Station blocked by broadcaster

2011-08-17 Thread mp3michael

You can still listen to all these stations on your Squeezebox using
DAR.fm. Here's how.

Go to http://DAR.fm and create an account. Tell it to record whatever
show/station you want. If you click the red record button next to a
show it will automatically setup a lifetime pass so all future
broadcasts will be recorded.

Go to www.mysqueezebox.com and add the MP3tunes using the SAME
credentials you used to create an account on DAR.fm.

On your Squeezebox go to MP3tunes and then look in the Playlist. You'll
see each radio show/station listed. Select the one you want to play.

What's great about this setup is that you can rewind/pause/ff anytime.
Now if we can just get Logitech to add a 30 sec skip button it would be
magical!

i can confirm the decreased sensibility w/ the snooze menu. if i try to
rotate the knob to choose off it takes several twists before the menu
 will actually change.

That is by design - users have complained about accidentally switching
alarm off, so they decreased sensibility.

Is that available with the free DAR.fm accounts, or do you need to be a
paid subscriber? On the new user registration page it shows that to
listen via a Squeezebox you need to be a premium (paid) member.

Otherwise it looks like a good idea, particularly as there is a show I
like which I always miss on a non-CBS station that I'd be able to
record.

This is what I was able to do.
 I went to http://www.radio-locator.com/
Found my blocked stations. Click to open the playlist in VLC.
Then copied the link to mysqueezebox.com favorites.
Now I can connect my radio to mysqueezebox site and access these
 stations.

ejnj: It's a playlist file you need something like vlc or winamp to
open these. They will not open within a browser if that is what you are
 trying to do.

This worked great for me. Thanks!
