Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Always fallback alarm
Fyi have you seen this bug http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17590 Does anyone have a second opinoin on this one ? Andy has it down to the usual " large playlist issue " Short version take a fairly large playlist say 2000 tracks: play it, this is usually problem free it can take some 10s before it starts but it plays fine . use it as an alarm , you have two option " current playlist " or choose it directly as an alarm sound, you havebto save it first. "Current playlist" this may work you don't always get the funky tune . But as an alarm sound ( saved playlist ) you are guaranteed to have the fallback alarm, not only that all other players will loose conection and the server may be locked at 100% cpu for 5 minutes. The interesting Q here is why it is different to play a playlist vs using it as an alarm ? And why using it as an alarm uses 100 times more cpu ? -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. You can also have a server issue, "knobs and menus" local server or mysqueezeebox.com ? Many menus are server driven and if the menu content is slow to show up it can be the server that is busy, or slow internet in case of mysqueezebox.com. The player can be in some ugly state needing a factory reset, the upgrade may not have gone well, you can redo the upgrade and then factory reset it. To really exclude wifi problem, an experiment would be to try one radio wired, assuming the server is wired to. Try without using sync. Signal stregnth does not tell the whole story and ping does not consume much bandwith, is it the same with an128kbps mp3 file compared to a flac or wav file -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Lost wifi connection and unable to reconnect ?
I recently started to have the issue with both my SB Radios. After doing a lot of wifi troubleshoting I lost patience and replaced a very good simultaneous dual-band WiFi router with a brand new one. The problem remains of songs "stuttering" and the radios freeze for long periods. To me, it seems like the radio is running at some high utilization that affects playing. If music is streaming but I use any knobs or menus, the box pauses for a long time. WiFi signal is 98-100%, all diags look good, continuous pings never miss a beat. I tried the latest nightly build but now luck. I hope a fix comes along ASAP! -- dailofan dailofan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3937 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86061 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] New iheartradio app
I wasn't aware of the IHR problem until 10/3 when I too found that I was cut off from KFI Los Angeles. I tried contacting IHR, the last response in the chain is: "Unfortunately, we do not have a link for internet radio at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience." I don't want an IHR "app", I want a streaming URL like I had.. -- ZipSqueeze ZipSqueeze's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=45992 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90669 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Another possibility is that he is using one of the uk-only BBC streams (and they therefore are not working here)? Iirc there was a thread somewhere (in the 3rd party plugins section ?) dicussing problems like that. -- copperstate copperstate's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34756 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89292 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

First of all: if the main alarm is a fallback alarm, then the Radio does not trust the server or stream anymore. Each consecutive Snooze will be the fallback tune as well. Now for your main alarm for some reason the stream just did not start to stream. At 05:59:58 your Radio gets the command to start the iPlayer stream At 06:00:00 it gets the signal to show the alarm window The Radio then check 6 times (every 5 seconds) if the stream started already At 06:00:30 it decides that the stream must have failed and starts the fallback. As said after the Snooze times the Radio does not try the stream anymore. It's in 'survival' mode :) So the overall timing of the alarm is perfect, nothing wrong with the SqueezePlug. In your case either BBC or the special iPlayer plugin is spoiling your alarm experience. As iPlayer didn't exist for you when you used MySB.com - what stream did you use then? How did you configure the iPlayer stream as alarm? Did you make a station a favourite or did you use any other way? In the logs it shows, that the Radio tries to connect to the stream http://87.248.208.77/stream/bbcmedia_lc1_radio2_q?s=1317756434&e=1317770834&h=eaa33a84ac0016a521858c996d38af02 When I call it myself I get the error "unauthorized URL", so I think the way you configured iPlayer as alarm tune creates a stream link that does not work anymore in the morning. Maybe configuring it differently makes it behave better? Another possibility would be to put the iPlayer stream into a playlist and then use the playlist as alarm tune? Maybe this makes the stream behave better (or iPlayer providing a working URL in the morning) -- bluegaspode Did you know: *'SqueezePlayer' (www.squeezeplayer.com)* will stream all your music to your Android device. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio Alarm has recently stopped working (audiostate is 0???)
The reply says that the alarm function checks to see if a stream is running already. I set two radiostream alarms, one at 6:00AM, the second at 7:30AM. The second doesn't happen eventhouh the first timed out at 7:30AM. The conflicting part is that if I turn the SB on by pressing a preset at 5:00AM (e.g. streaming BBC), the alarm interupts and changes to the US station at 6:00AM. If I try a test alarm in 5 minutes time or even a couple of hours everything works fine with the same stream but in the morning, fallback alarm. This morning I heard the fallback at alarm time and after each snooze so I downloaded the server log with alarm debugging activated and the messages log from the radio in the hope that someone can diagnose the problem but I am starting to think I would be better off going back to mysqueezebox for alarms and I never thought I would say that!
