Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Accessing presets from large remote

2011-11-12 Thread Antilope

I can access them on my Squeezebox Radios with my Harmony H653 and H688
remotes.

[SlimDevices: Radio] All sorts of weirdness with Podcasts app on the SB Radio lately

2011-11-12 Thread cff

Anyone else notice the following:

- The Podcasts app will not launch correctly when added to the main
menu.

- If launching the Podcasts app (via the My Apps menu), you can see the
individual feeds correctly, but if you back out to the main list, then
try to enter one, the feed will be empty. You need to back all the way
out to the My Apps menu, then back in to see anything within a feed.

- When playing podcasts, then going into standby, then resuming, the
podcasts will resume and play correctly for a while, but then randomly
stop and/or restart from the beginning.

None of these things happened until the last couple updates (not only
with 7.7 but before also).

Anyone else getting this behavior? I have a Radio, Boom and Duet and
only the Radio is doing this.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Accessing presets from large remote

2011-11-12 Thread quietdragon

The large format remotes (SB3, Duet, etc) have a numeric keypad.

The SBR presets are accessible from the front panel, but I would also
like to access them from the large format remote.

Is there a way to achieve this ?

I used to have similar problems. Disabling all plugins (weather, rss,
etc.) helped me. BBC Player and Radio Time apps are still in use but my
system is stable now with 7.7.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Weird Network Issues

2011-11-12 Thread Mnyb

other tips to add to Toby10's advice.

*Don't hide the SSID .

*Don't use mac address filters (and if you do anyway remember that the
duet has two mac addresses one for controller and one for the receiver
) .

*Be aware if you have a router setting that limits the maximum wifi
things you can connect and disable it .

Settings like these is very typical to forget that you ever made , the
only thing you accomplish is frustration for yourself .

* Squeezboxes are notoriously bad at roaming, if you have an elaborate
setup with multiple routers and extenders , some uses the same ssid and
passwd etc . be aware off to which device the squeezebox *really*
connects to no guarantee that it conects to the one with the best
signal. You migth have to find another strategy .

Security and what kind of security are used ?

Try without security as an experiment .

I use WPA2 Personal AES and it works fine .

I don't know exactly which security protocols squeezeboxes support some
had a nice list in another tread I can not find at the moment .

Frustratingly not all kinds of security so some WPA2 choices are not
valid .

*If your not very good at networking , make sure everything is on the
same network and subnet ,example 192.168.0.X and 255.255.255.0 where X
is the inly diff between clients .

* Make sure that it is only one DHCP server running on your network .

* If you are mixing static ip and DHCP clients make sure that the DHCP
range does not overlap with your static-ip's .

Or the squeezebox could actually be broken ?

If it is inches from router why are you not using Ethernet?

Well I may have spoken too soon. Listening to it again, it lost the
network again. Since it could have been doing this all week while I was
at work, I can't say it's anything to do with the router. Once again, it
failed to see the network when it was literally inches from the router.
Meanwhile every other wireless device in the house worked flawlessly. I
guess contacting Logitech customer support is the next step. It's bad
enough to have to configure my entire wireless network around one
device without that same device flaking out at random and not seeing
the network when it's sitting on top of the router and needing rebooted
several times before it works again. Not cool, Logitech.
