Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] UE Smart Radio and Live Music Archive working ? but not on Squeezeboxes

2012-10-13 Thread majones

Live Music Archive is probably the most irrelevant and uninteresting
SB/UE topic ever. To the OP, congratulations on obtaining any responses.

[SlimDevices: Radio] No Internet Radio when connected by WiFi

2012-10-13 Thread AndrewFG

When I learned of the phase out of Squeezeboxes, I bought a new Radio
"for stock". (Perhaps I am just a masochist and I bought it so that the
pain can continue...)

When the Radio is connected to my home network via a fixed line Ethernet
cable, there is no problem connecting to Internet Radio channels.
However when I connect it to the exact same home network via a wireless
AP, some of the radio channels play and some do not.

The wifi connection strength is pretty good, and it works perfectly when
playing local music from LMS. Also I can see that the Radio does connect
to the remote streaming server because it says "Connecting", and then it
displays the radio channel title; however it does not display
"Bufferring" and it does not play the stream.

My network consists of a Zyxel P335U router with WAN connection via a
cable modem, and with DHCP server and NAT running, plus a Netgear
WNAP210 802.11/bgn access point connected to the Zyxel.

I guess the router is set up fine, because the Radio works fine when
connected by Ethernet, and indeed all my other Squeeze players (also
hardwired) connect just fine too. So I suppose there is something odd
due to the extra jump when the Radio is connected through the wireless
access point. It must be either a "Radio specific" problem in the
Wireless Access point or something in the Radio's w-lan settings.

Note also that other devices (Controller, iPad, phones etc.) all connect
to the Internet fine via the same wireless access point. And I stress
again that even with the Radio, some radio channels do seem to work, and
some do not. So it is not just your average go/nogo routing issue

=> Any advice?
