[SlimDevices: Radio] Lost Subscription Stream

2009-10-23 Thread abysmillard

I updated to Squeezebox Server 7.4.1 yesterday and then updated the
firmware on my Squeezebox Radio. The radio appeared to work OK after,
but when I tried to return to a radio station after logging into the
server, I got a message that there was a problem and that I should reset
factory defaults. I did this, and almost everything works fine (except,
of course, that I had to redo all of my settings).

What doesn't work is that I have a premium subscription to RadioIO, and
have the app installed on the radio. Since the update, I am no longer
able to access the premium streams. I can find them in the menu, but
when I select a station I get the RadioIO tagline on the top of the
screen and the RadioIO logo in the center of the screen, but no sound. I
tried uninstalling the RadioIO app from mySqueezebox.com and
reinstalling with no effect. I removed my RadioIO account, uninstalled
the app from mysqueezebox.com, confirmed that it was not present on the
radio, and then reinstalled from msb.com and reenabled my account.
Nothing I've done has enabled me to access the premium streams again.

Does anyone have any ideas? Could this be a bug introduced with 7.4.1?
Thanks!

[SlimDevices: Radio] How does one get Logitech support to respond?

2009-11-02 Thread abysmillard

I thought I'd heard that Logitech support was pretty good, but I emailed
a question regarding lost streams over a week ago and have had no
response. I have written two followup emails also with no response. I
did get an automated response with a ticket number, so I know that the
original request went somewhere at least and that I am able to receive
replys from Logitech.

Does anyone else use email support, or is phone the only way to go?
Thanks.

Ah, thank you for the info. That makes sense.
If I might make a suggestion, maybe you could modify the automated
reply to reflect your current difficulties. Presently it says to expect
a reply within 48 hours, leading to an expectation that, now at least,
is unreasonable.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox server? mysqueezebox? Huh?

2009-11-05 Thread abysmillard

I've had my SB Radio for about a month now and am thoroughly enjoying
it, despite it's many quirks--even on it's worst day it is s much
better than my old Sangean. Being new to the squeezebox line of
products, I'm finding myself more and more puzzled about the two
connection options. The radio defaulted to mysqueezebox.com when I first
turned it on, so that's what I have used for the most part, but I'm
starting to play around with some of the plug-ins, which only work with
the server.

As far as I can see, the advantage to mysqueezebox.com is that you
don't have to have your PC on. Period. Looks like it's handy for
traveling, or for using the radio at work and such, but some features
don't work, and communication between the two platforms seems
non-existent.

On the other hand, the Squeezebox server is much easier to customize,
and it gives you access to the music resident on your PC, as well as
internet stations. The only disadvantage of the server is that you have
to leave your PC running. This is something I do anyway, since my PC is
also the server for my weather station.

Do I have this right? Is there any reason why one would want to connect
via mysqueezbox.com if a running PC is available? Is there any reason
why I wouldn't want to connect via the server?
Am I missing something?
Thanks!
