On every floor a AP (because of aluminum isolation on the floor) and a AP outside. All with the same ssid. One for Squeezebox stuff which only transmits on 2.4. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Wi-Fi 6
One or two AP's for en entire house is a bit old fashion approach. Nowadays with so many AP's (and repeaters) surrounding you it's better to use more AP's but with lower signal output so you create an blanket of signal over your home. And yes, this means more hardware and more cables (avoid mesh) to interconnect the stuff. Take the effort ones and you got a solid wifi network for a long period of time. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Wi-Fi 6
As far as I know wifi6 combines frequencies from 1 to 6GHz. I don't think that a SB can work with that. They only operate at 2.4GHz. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Is Rebuffering the Death of the Squeezebox?
Still I'm convinced it is a network/configuration problem especially since both radio's have the same problem. In the last 15 years of using squeezebox I have experienced the rebuffed problem twice. One culprit appeared to be my wifi network that was not good enough. The other culprit was when I switched over to a pi for LMS and the pi lost connection to the music share because the file server had a configuration problem. Since that is solved no problem what so ever with rebuffering. *SqueezeBoxes:* 1x Transporter (Living room) 1x SB2 (shed), 1x Radio (Kitchen), 1x Boom (Dining room), 1x piCorePlayer (jacuzzi), 1x piCorePlayer (Garden) 1x OSMC + Squeezelite (Movie room), 1x Touch (Study 2), few spare unit's *Server:* LMS on Pi3 7.9.1. on PcP 3.21 *Network:* AVM Fritzbox, Netgear Smart Switch 24p, 3x Ubiquity ---- edwin2006's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66926 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112063 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
