Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] CBC Radio App no longer works

After all, they have to prioritize their limited resources to spread their liberal anti-gun propaganda first and foremost :) Although I do still like the local CBC radio (Calgary), and I was able to download the URL off their site and add it to my favourites. gibbs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43117 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94781 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Force Choose Network at hard power-on?
Just to add to the above post, a lot of times only the top or bottom half of a receptacle will be switched. Make sure you try both sockets. -- gibbs gibbs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43117 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86274 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] Need a troubleshooting sticky
There seems to be a lot of good advice on these boards, but it is scattered all over the place and can be hard to find. It would be handy to try and condense all that info into a logical set of steps for a certain type of problem. Let me start off with what is going on with my radio as I type this... I tune to a station (CBC Calgary) the radio plays for approximately 1 to 2 minutes normally then goes back to the menus. Sometimes a full menu, sometimes a partial menu. Sometimes the radio tries to start playing again automatically and shows the tower symbol and station banner, but no sound. My radio is connected wirelessly to a router approximately 6 feet away. Here is what I tried: 1) Checked Diagnostic screens: - Shows 100 % signal. - Shows ping is OK - Shows tcp ports 3483/9000 are Ok - Shows registered. 2) Set my computer to continuously ping 184.73.179.154 - While the radio continually reset (5 times or so), the computer never dropped a single ping request. 3) Watched the wireless symbol at the bottom of the screen and it never went off white once through the entire ordeal. So, this is where I am and I have no idea what to try next. It seems maybe the server is down or having problems but I do not know how to test that. This is why a stickied troubleshooting guide would be handy. -- gibbs gibbs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43117 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86659 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Some advice please
This may not help much, but I can offer my own experience. I ran my SB Radio hard-wired for a couple months with very little problems. Last weekend I bought a wireless router (Dlink DIR-632) and converted the radio to run on wireless. So far I have had zero issues with the wireless connection. I am running the latest firmware as well. For example it has been running today for over 12 hours and hasn't dropped the connection once. I guess my point is that the hardware will actually work, so either your radio is defective or there is some other factor in play such as a neighbour's wireless router interfering with your signal etc. And, yes I did mean to put the u in neighbour eh.. -- gibbs gibbs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43117 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86388 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Microwave Oven and Squeezebox
I know at my gf's house, when the microwave turns on, the internet connection for the laptop in the kitchen shuts down. Mind you the microwave is physically between the router and the laptop in this situation. Might be worth getting one of those leakage detectors. -- gibbs gibbs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43117 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86442 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio $129 After Rebate at Amazon
That is a good deal. For the 3 radios I bought I paid 229, 199, and 169.00. All were at a BM store, can't use amazon.com here in Canada unfortunately and amazon.ca is a complete utter joke. -- gibbs gibbs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43117 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86349 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] radio continuously rebooting
Well, now tonight my other SB Radio is doing the same thing, even just sitting at the menus it is constantly losing menu options, then getting them back. I noticed that about every 10 seconds even just at the menu, it accesses the internet, I presume it is checking in with mysqueezebox.com and when it is not able to communicate, it loses the online portion of the menus. Sad thing is it is difficult to tell if it is my radio, my internet connection, or the squeezebox service. Anyone else having trouble tonight? I wish it had more information in the diagnostics menu, it does show an IP address, ping is OK, and is registered to mysb.com. -- gibbs gibbs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43117 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85759 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] radio continuously rebooting
This just started happening today. I can listen to a station for about 30 seconds then it reboots back to the main screen and takes a looong time to load the menu options. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Battery not charging.
In the meantime, you can go into options, advanced, power settings which shows some battery information. Might be worth a look just to compare to the new pack once it comes in. -- gibbs gibbs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43117 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85666 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Volume Radio
I noticed there is a lot of variation between different stations in volume as well, which seems weird since it is all digital. I know there are some settings in the menu for gain control like auto gain and smart gain maybe they will do something for you. They don't seem to do much on my radio though. -- gibbs gibbs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43117 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85233 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] Radio Advertising
Hello to everyone, this is my first post. I would like to share my experience with the squeezebox radio and also pose a question. For me the squeezebox radio is an absolutely fantastic device. I live in a small city with repetitive top 40, rock, and country stations. Once I stumbled onto the squeezebox and tried it, I can never go back to local radio again. This leads me to my question, why on earth doesn't Logitech at least run some commercials for their product? I seriously didn't even know that this device existed until I happened onto it doing google searches for a radio to use at work. I have since bought 3 of them (work, home, gift for girlfriend) and it was only by chance that I found out the thing existed in the first place. Again, once I showed this to my colleagues at work, they were very impressed, but they had no idea such a thing existed. I think there is a huge untapped market for such an excellent product, but it is being severely limited by a lack of advertisement. -- gibbs gibbs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43117 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84802 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
