Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Autoconnect on connection loss (Alarm)
I reboot my cable and router and found that my SB radio automatically re-connect to mySB.com. -- ply3908 ply3908's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38634 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85586 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Autoconnect on connection loss (Alarm)
Thank you very much! Maybe I used a bad description for my situation. Not really my wifi connection is poor but the connection to our internet provider. So I can't really do anything regarding our wifi connection. But I still tried these tips some time ago when I didn't know it was a provider-side problem. I already tried hacking the AlarmSnoozeApplet but (as expected) I couldn't do anything useful yet. Does anybody know how to fix the problem (by changing the code)? Thank you for your help! :) -- Physatty Physatty's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42874 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85586 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Also try using a static IP address for the Radio, I found that the radio doesn't seem very good at renewing its IP address when the lease expires. -- andysm andysm's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44159 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85586 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Autoconnect on connection loss (Alarm)
How about trying to improve the WiFi signal? I don't use Alarms, but I can unplug my router and my Radio reconnects without issue after the router boots up. Some very basic WiFi tweaks (you will need admin access to your router to try these simple changes): 1. use a unique SSID name (name of your network/router) 2. if using a G WiFi: set WiFi to G only (turns off a & b modes) 3. if using an N WiFi: set to G Compatibility mode (if using G devices) 4. change the broadcast channel to the least used channel near you 5. choose only channels 1 or 6 or 11 (or 13 if available) 6. router and WiFi antenna orientation adjustments can help signal strength 7. keep router away from other electronic devices (cordless phones, ISP modem, computers) 8. reboot WiFi router every once in a while (once a month is usually sufficient) -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85586 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] Autoconnect on connection loss (Alarm)
My wireless connection is quite poor. Almost every morning my Radio looses its connection or my radio stream is crashing (I don't really know.). Either the Radio starts repeating that terrible offline sound to wake me up or (if I'm just listening to a stream) it looses the connection and stops playing music. Is there a way to make my Squeezebox Radio reconnect after connection loss and maybe start the offline sound (Alarm) after like 5 failed reconnect attempts? Thank you! ;) -- Physatty Physatty's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42874 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85586 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
