[SlimDevices: Radio] Default "Album Art" image
Where does the default image come from that is used when there is no album art for an album. My Radio keeps showing a fixed picture of an album in that situation and I would like to chamge it but can't find it - it is not the album art for picture shown. -- Slatts Slatts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41742 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83508 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Default "Album Art" image
The default image is probably hard-coded in the Radio software and not particularly easy for a novice (like you and me) to change. If your Radio is "stuck" on the wrong artwork you can unplug it from the wall, wait a minute, and plug it back in to reboot it. That's what I've done when this happens and it typically clears the situation. Alternatively, just press and hold the Power button until the Radio restarts. After you reboot make sure you are running the latest firmware: Home > Settings > Advanced > Software Update. -- Apesbrain Apesbrain's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=738 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83508 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Tried all that :-( It keeps defaulting the "The Allman Brothers Band" album cover but that one is no longer on my system or at least I can't find it, hence the request for a "Default Location". -- Slatts Slatts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41742 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83508 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Ok, sounds like the situation is different than I'd assumed... Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Default "Album Art" image
Thanks anyway. I've found the name of it from the URL (http://127.0.0.1:9000/music/455/cover_50x50_o.gif) but a search does not find 'cover_50x50_o.gif' anywhere on my machine. Any idea where '127.00.1' gets its info from on the local machine? -- Slatts Slatts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41742 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83508 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Technically speaking (advance to the next paragraph if you're bored) a URL is not a filename, it's an abstraction saying 'there's a resource at this location' which means simply your local machine (127.0.0.1) on port 9000 will serve a resource from path /music/455/cover_50x50_o.gif using http. In the URL you provided there's actually the album id: 455. I reckon that the filename does not tally to the filesystem, because otherwise SBS would have to create duplicate default images for each album you have without art! So likely the file has a different name. Look through all the gifs in the squeezebox server directory (sorry - I don't have access to mine right now). An alternative is that the image file is in the database somewhere. -- elstensoftware 'bliss' (http://www.blisshq.com) - fully automated music library management. This emphasize why you should have every album or single in it's own folder. typically artist/album/track1 ..n If sbs can't find a embedded art it loks in the folder where the files is for something. Could be weirder if the tagging is ff so that the file is considered a part of an album where it don't belong and inherits the art. Maybe a misstaged compilation where one of the files have art but not the others. -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH and assorted amps SiriuS, Classe' Primare and Dynadio speakers, Contour 4 Contour Center, and Contour 1.3SE rear ch. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Default "Album Art" image
Further to all this... I created a new "cover.jpg" file from a random picture (300 x 210 pixels) in my "My Music" folder, re-scanned and the Server picked that picture up however the Radio and Touch did not. I will experiment more... I take the suggestion to put all songs in different "artist/album" folders but having over 9k songs this will take some time! -- Slatts Slatts's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41742 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83508 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
