Try the server power control plugin on your local instance of
SqueezeboxServer, and you can set things up to switch over to
mysqueezebox.com automatically (among other things). However, my
recommendation is to run a dedicated small headless server 24/7 running
SbS, then you never need to think about switching. The vortexbox
appliance is plug play, quiet, headless, and low power use.

And where do I find server power control? I looked in Plug-in with no
luck as you understand. So can you give me a hint where to look.

have you checked the box on the plugin page (in your SqueezeboxServer
Settings Plugin tab) to show all 3rd party plugins. It should show
up on that list.

The closest is PowerSave under show all 3rd party plugins. Running the
latest version 7.5.1 and Win7.
In other words, no luck so far.

Hmmm, it should be there. Clear your browser cache, close your browser
and reopen, go to setting again and look at all the various listings
under plugin tab (recommended 3rd party, etc. etc.). The plugin is
called server power control and author is gordon harris.

no i don't use it. and you don't need to use it for WOL stuff if
everything is working fine. My BOOM alarms have been rock solid for
several years now.

You should read the (very long) thread about it over in the 3rd Party
Plugins forum. At a minimum, read the first post in that thread, where
Gordon describes the plugin, including updates with new releases.

One of the things the plugin will do (if you want, it's all
configurable) is bring your server out of hibernate/suspend a couple
minutes before an alarm is supposed to go off.

As for automatically switching to mysb.com, it can do that if (a) you
set the plugin to put the server to sleep after X minutes of inactivity
by your SB(s), or (b) you shutdown the server via SrvrPowerCtrl. If your
server just randomly crashes the SrvrPowerCtrl plugin will _not_
automatically kick the SB over to mysb.com.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Why the need for 2 Server Types

I think the main reason is to have a backup server (mysb.com) in case
your pc goes down. The radio still then has some functionality via
mysb.com if your sbs server is down

Come on Logitech - get this basic issue sorted and then you have the
