I fully agree with you = I was just thinking of a workaround till the
issue is solved by logitech!

and thanks for the hint to configure the alarm directly on the radio =
so far I did it most of the time via the web-interface as its a little
bit more userfriendly!

ok - as nobody seems to be able to answer my question their might be no
way to do a periodic reboot :-(

my assumption still is that the SBR has troubles when it is not used
for a longer period
does anybody have an idea if e.g. a constant ping would help? a ping
every 30sec would keep the device somehow busy and probably keep alive
:-)

best regards!

can't speak to the radio, but I have devices (boom, SB3, duet,
transporter) that may not be used for weeks at a time and they work
just fine when I start to play something. I very much doubt that the
long period of no use is the cause of the problems you are having with
the RADIO.

Try setting your alarm 8 minutes earlier.

good idea but wouldn't that just mean that the back-up alarm rings 8min
earlier?

You don't know till you've tried it.

It's possible to develop a third party applet that does it but it
doesn't feel like the correct solution. It would be better if the alarm
handling were solved so it worked correctly. I think there are a number
of bug reports related to alarm handling which Logitech probably are
working on to solve as soon as possible.

One important thing is to always configure the alarms directly on the
Radio itself, if you configure them through Squeezebox Server web
interface for through the mysqueezebox.com web site the chance of
problems increases.
