Concerning the backup message for the operator, I thought it would be more informative to give the operator the number of users connected, like: But, I can simply change the message to 'YOU HAVE OTHER USERS'. As far as 'error' logs, I too utilize a 'Tracking' table, to log the time, date, operator, function, etc, for entry and exit into the system.I also track the description and 'operator entered' options for all major functions in the system. This has proved to be invaluable when errors occur. The log or tracking table is the largest table row-wise in the system. [RBASE-L] - form problem
Hello group - good day to all: Just ran into a problem with one of my main menu forms. When I tried to bring it up for an edit, the screen was all white and the form did not appear on the screen. when clicking on forms, under database explorer, and Looking up the associated table for the form, , it had ("") beside the table name. Tried to find the reason for the '("")' in the Help notes but to no avail. Can someone point me in the right direction for this mishap? .Version X. Thanks in advance... [RBASE-L] - out of dynamic space epilog
Thanks to Karen, Razzak, Randy, Mark, Nicky, and Rehan for their great suggestions to my clients 'OUT OF DYNAMIC SPACE' problem. I dialed in to the client, and tried to do a Reload and Pack, but it blew up.Next, I copied the db and files to my computer, and did a Reload and Pack - worked great, and then tested the db - that worked too. Dialed back in and transferred the db and files back to client. Fired up and again 'OUT OF DYNAMIC SPACE' Tried to tracethe errorduring my testing, everthing went to an extremely slow mode for about 1 1/2 hours. So after a day being down, the clients network IT tech called me..he dialed in..then magicallyeverything worked, and was unbelievably fast. He claimed he didn't do antthing (yeah, right). So, as usual NO PROBLEMS WITHIN R:BASE (it's running like a champ) ..the culprit was somewhere in the client's computer and/or the IT tech guy. No clue as to what caused the 'OUT OF DYNAMIC SPACE' error; I guess i'll never know. Client is now happy once more. But, again thanks to all for the great suggestions, and HAPPY NEW YEAR ! [RBASE-L] - Import File
Hi, Group: Need some assistance today. I have worked previously with Exporting files, but have not worked with Importing files. Now I have a potential new customer who wants me to Import data from another system. I have enclosed the tab delimited test file (only two records), but cannot get it to load. Using RBX5E. Test File attached. Do I need to set up a table in the database with the same names as in the test file ? Is this truly a tab delimited file ? Nothing seems to be working ?Maybe the file has Covid Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The FTP syncornizer creates an Excel file from the web then send that Excel file to our server. I then create code that brings that file information into RBASE using GATEWAY. Here is the glitch. On the web side, the automated sync downloading the Excel file fires even if there is no info to send to us. That means I end up with a file that has a header row but no actual information to import. My GATEWAY just hangs up if there is no actual info to import. So my question. Is there some code or GATEWAY setting that can check an Excel file for info so it will not import? My web man says he cannot set up the FTP to NOT send files (if no info available) if it is automated to sync with my server at set times. The only other option is for the web to export to our server all the web traffic every time. That eventually will get to be a BIG file if our web traffic increases as we wish. Can anyone think of anything I can do on the RBASE end?
