Re: [RBW] Coolest cycling cap?
Many nice and even slightly cool caps, but No one has gotten the Teve Blad reference! I agree with Jim that one of the great delights of parenthood is teasing your children. Anecdote: when my daughter was in 2d and 3d grade, she delighted to have me ride down to her school and eat lunch with her and her friends. When she went to another school in grade 6, this one only 1 mile from my house, I remarked: You're so close I can come by for lunch every day! The reaction was comical! Patrick once had a Teve Blad as well as a La Vie Claire jersey Moore, whose most enigmatic jersey now is a Cycles Wolfe replica. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. Wheelin' and dealin' . If anyone is looking at this, and it's the correct size, but is hesitating because they'd rather have a green one and/or would rather spend a bit less, here's a proposal: Maybe I could buy this one from Hobo and sell my not-as-nice-condition green one to you, for a few hundred less? Nothing seriously wrong with mine - just irrational OCD/vanity issues on my part: I have another Rivendell in the exact same green color, and I obsess about paint condition more than I should. I have no desire to get rid of the bike altogether, but would welcome the opportunity to swap for an orange one. We could discuss all sorts of build combinations using parts from the two bikes. Win, win, win. Reply off-list if you're interested... [RBW] Re: Where is Clem?
I rode a Clem today, at RBW HQ. It was a 59 or so... but tall enough seat post and those grand king bars, I fit just fine (I'm 6'6). What a delightful ride! This is a very sweet bike, relaxed yet still with a quickness to the steering that I liked. The test ride was setup with Vee brakes, very eager to stop, and glad for that since I was descending the road with my hands on the flats, forgot that it didn't have interrupter levers, and YOW the brakes did the job when my invisible levers were missing. The rear seatclamp lug is really impressive, I could see it becoming standard across the entire line, and bet other custom builders will be asking to use it. Yes, the welds on the front where the lugs should be are unappealing, but I think anyone who enjoys the riding characteristics will quickly get over that. Everyone should go take a test ride on it, and I hope RBW sells all they can make. The dark green (British Racing?) is the bomb. - Andrew, Berkeley -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group.
