[RBW] Re: Which Rivendell frame would you resurrect?

2019-07-18 Thread S
Legolas or All Rounder, I think a lighter canti frame would be a good
addition. Nothing in that spot right now. Atlantis, Gus, etc, are fairly
heavy duty and AHH has limited tire clearance.

Bring back the AR, I need one in a larger size, and fit 650b wheels.

[RBW] Re: Crust Towel Rack Drops on Your Riv? Which stem are you using?

2019-07-18 Thread Ryan M.
Hey jandrews,

I'm sorry but I missed your question back in April and just now found it.

The bars didn't work on the Appaloosa for me as I didn't have a short
enough stem that made the drops comfortable enough on that bike. I wound up
installing the towel rack bars on my Kona Jake the Snake CR instead and
they are working great. I'm using a pretty short Paul Components Boxcar
stem and it makes the bike handle really well. The reach on the Appaloosa
is just too long for me to comfortably use drops on the bike.

[RBW] Which Rivendell frame would you resurrect?

2019-07-18 Thread Conway Bennett
The best riding bike I own is a 650b Hunq. My second best is a 1994
Bridgestone XO-3. I guess I'd like some iteration of the early 26" A/R but I
feel like the crust romanceur fits that niche. I have seriously thought of
parlaying my Quickbeam and XO into a crust bike but I like rim brakes.
