[RBW] Re: WTB: Silver Chainring Guard 42T

2021-03-26 Thread brendonoid
This isn't as nicely finished as the Riv one but aesthetically almost
identical and the 42t 110bcd is in stock at blue lug:

Congrats!
Best colour for a Clem IMHO. No need for upgrades with that perfect setup,
only side-grades. Side-grades are half the fun though!

2021-03-26 Thread Emily Guise
Leah: Greg has chosen to go down the single speed route instead and is
currently building up a surly cross check, so for now we only have one matching
set of bikes. :)

Pancake: some lovely photos the Cheviot! I think it is something about the head
tube length that makes it look extra long. But that orange is just so dang
gorgeous.

Joe: I also said I wasn’t going to get a new bike, and then the stimulus check
came thru and the photos of Platypuses started going around. I was helpless in
the face of such stunning bicycle beauty.

John: can’t wait until Golden Pliers gets their shipment! What an exciting day
that’ll be, and obviously my cry for a photo of a 60cm lime olive frame was
heard, so thank you for alerting the Riv-Powers-That-Be.

 Well,

[RBW] WTB: Silver Chainring Guard 42T

2021-03-26 Thread Wyatt
Looking to buy the Silver Chainring Guard that Riv makes in the 42T size.
Mostly because I think it looks cool, also because I don't really want to
buy a new set of chainring bolts for the old Sugino crank that I'm
converting to 1x. Riv has been out of stock forever and I'm tired of
waiting. Any chance somebody has one of these lying around?

have the exact same pair of bikes! Please tell me Greg is getting one too. That

As someone who's getting a 60cm olive green, I can't wait to see that size

smaller ones. I always thought the 60cm Cheviot looked so gangly and

Looking at the Riv site and the pics and "Standard" build noted there: The
rear gearing is shown as 11-34 9 sp (my favorite!) but the R90 Sunrace mech
in the picture will only do 11-28. Possibly, the bike will ship with a
different rear unit. Sunrace does make an 11-34 capable MTB rear
derailleur. Microshift is another source of nice parts for less money than
the big name parts makers.

I have RH Maes Parallels with Shimano 10 spd bar end shifters on my JP
