[RBW] FS: Headsets and Chains

2022-04-22 Thread Corwin

Hi -

Posting this for a couple friends. Charlie Cunningham and Jacquie Phelan
have an ample store of spare parts. Today, we offer you WTB headsets and
Sachs/Sedis chains. Please send mail directly to Jacquie: Jacquie at
batnet.com . Payment should be via paypal using
Jacquie's email address. Friends and family only please. Please do not send
any money until Jacquie confirms your purchase.

About the headsets... These are WTB Grease Guard headsets. Grease Guard was
a "thing" back in the early days of mountain biking. Charlie created Grease
Guard and SunTour licensed it. Wilderness Trail Bikes (WTB) is the company
Charlie founded and was later forced out of. These are 1" threaded
headsets, and are new-in-box. Each box is personally signed by Charlie, so
you not only get a great headset - you get a piece of history and a
collector's item. The headsets are priced at $75 plus shipping via USPS.

About the chains... These are Sachs/Sedis 6/7/8 speed chains. They measure
57 inches long and therefore have 114 links each. The chains are new and
unused. You can buy a less expensive chain elsewhere - or you can buy one
of these Sachs/Sedis chains, get a piece of history and help out Jacquie
and Charlie. The chains are priced at $40 each plus shipping via USPS.

Thanks for looking,

Oh my goodness!! Where did you get the pink (or lavender?) fenders, Dave
and what brand are they? They're perfect with the dark green (and would
look great on my dark green Clem). Nice touch with the matching brake
cable color. It's all so perfectly complimentary.

[RBW] For Sale: Riv Silver Triple Crankset

2022-04-22 Thread Bill Lindsay
You just ordered a smallish Rivendell frameset and don't have a crankset
picked out. All you know is that all the Rivendell Silver models are sold
out in the shortest 170mm length. Bummer!

Well, I just parted out a small Rivendell, and so I've got a 170mm triple
crankset available. This one is kind of extra special in Riv-Street-Cred,
because it is not 44/34/24 like the current Rivendell triple. It's got the
rings of the original Rivendell Silver offering: 43/35/24. That's super
weird and awesome. Nobody will know, and you'll forget. Riv themselves
know it doesn't really matter. They did odd chainring sizes just to be
different.

Wait for the next shipment of Silver cranks and pay $250 (or whatever they
actually cost) -OR- buy mine for $200 shipped in the US.

Pics prove they are essentially un-used. I didn't even wipe 'em off yet.
Here's the link to my "stuff for sale" flickr album. Scroll to the
bottom. https://www.flickr.com/photos/45758191@N04/albums/72157634724093620

ALSO, if you have a Riv Silver crankset in 173mm and just want to trade
arms for arms, let me know and I'll do that.

Congrats to everyone on their Atlantis pre-orders. I'd fit a 55 but I dream
of that double top tube on the 59. Not being able to fit the double tube
frames pushed me to the Appaloosa, a bicycle I love.

2022-04-22 Thread Takashi
Jason, those deep pink cherries are so gorgeous! I see some pedestrians in
the photos. They must be enjoying, too.
One of your photos show white and pink flowers; are they blooming from the
same tree?
Some peach blossom trees have both white and pink flowers on one tree, but
I've never heard of cherry trees blooming like that.

Re: [RBW] Platy Lug: Different. Which one do you have?

They likely build the frames in batches of sizes, so they can minimize
setup of the weld fixtures. So they likely use whatever BB shell they have
enough of on hand to build out that frame size.

2022-04-22 Thread Bicycle Belle Ding Ding!
Hi Doug,

My bike was the final sample before production. Will said on the website
that “it came out perfect” so I always assumed no changes were made. I did
email Grant about the lug question, and while he didn’t give an exact
answer, it sounds like there are 3 shells that can be used and it depends
what the frame shop has at the time. But now I wonder if there is more to
it than that, because all the 55s have the longer, cutout lug (with the
exception of my raspberry sample, which sounds delicious, by the way) which
might suggest the choice of shell has to do with the size of the frame.

It’s quirky!
