[RBW] Re: 173 v. 178 Crank Arms?
I'm 6' 1" give or take with a 89.5pbh. 've ridden 165-180mm cranks. My preference is typically 165-170. I like the pedal clearance and prefer higher cadence riding. I generally get used to whatever I am riding though. No science based or anatomical insight, but I feel like outside of marginal gains and maybe physiological anomalies ones body will adapt to whatever. I wouldn't over think it. If you want some new cranks and got the cash, why not give it a try. [RBW] Re: 173 v. 178 Crank Arms?
I have 180mm cranks on my 58cm Appa and 178mm on my 57cm appa. Clearance is not a problem with the caveat that I run 29x2.1 tyres and don't do crazy single track on those bikes. Crank length is 100% personal preference and opinions will vary wildly. Biomechanics says shorter cranks should be 'better' but I've seen experts also disagree on that. It is a rabbit hole to go down but there is a lot of info out there. I've tried a lot of stuff over the years and have found I prefer shorter cranks on road bikes and longer cranks on off-pavement bikes, which is counter intuitive but has more to do with posture/hip angles and personal preference. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] 173 v. 178 Crank Arms?
Hi everyone, I am considering switching my crank arms. My existing arms are 173; I’m thinking about going to 178. Here are the existing specs: Bike: Appaloosa 58cm with 700c wheels PBH: 90.5 I’m 6’ tall and I have long legs. Here are my questions: 1: Will 178 arms work on my bike, or will I not have enough ground clearance? 2: Why was the bike originally built with 173 arms? Is it a standard/average size, better ground clearance, better fit for the average user, toe-hitting-the-front-wheel, or another reason? 3: Is the 173 v. 178 difference so minimal that I won’t notice it? As always, your experience, wisdom, advice, and opinions are appreciated. Thanks, everyone. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: 2023 Nutmeg Country Spring Fling
Just my humble opinion but if you are going to nutmeg country to ride you'd be missing out if you you didn't check out Ron's choice trails in the woods. After my first Nutmeg Nor'easter I'm fully sold on making the 9 hour drive up every year to ride those 300+ year old carriage roads and forest trails. Roads are roads, everywhere has them. I unfortunately won't be making the spring fling, my spring/summer is pretty full already. Have fun out there! [RBW] Re: WTB / 27.2 nice quality seatpost in BLACK
Thanks Max! Unfortunately all they have in stock is the 0 setback version, not the one with the regular setback. I noticed that Analog also had one of these in their secret sale, but it was only 0 offset as well. -B On Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 9:29:14 AM UTC-4 maxcr wrote: > Hi Brian, > Not quite black, but super cool - > https://www.sim.works/products/froggy-seatpost?variant=36497226662054 at > $70 discounted Outlet Collection might be what you're looking for. > Max > > On Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 7:07:37 AM UTC-6 brok...@gmail.com wrote: > >> Working on some upgrades for my cargo bike and need a nice quality, >> 2-bolt, 27.2 seatpost in BLACK in case anyone has something along these >> lines that they would part with. >> >> Looking particularly for something like a Thomson (regular setback - NOT >> the straight post variety), a Paul, a Nitto frog, or some other seatpost of >> comparable high quality. >> >> I'm located in KY, and prefer to pay via Venmo for bike stuff. [RBW] WTB / 27.2 nice quality seatpost in BLACK
Working on some upgrades for my cargo bike and need a nice quality, 2-bolt, 27.2 seatpost in BLACK in case anyone has something along these lines that they would part with. Looking particularly for something like a Thomson (regular setback - NOT the straight post variety), a Paul, a Nitto frog, or some other seatpost of comparable high quality. I'm located in KY, and prefer to pay via Venmo for bike stuff. Thanks in advance! Brian -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: rack for Wald 139
Laing, that's the most gorgeous Clementine I've seen yet! Bravo. I like the addition of the the cafe lock, too! -Brian On Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 8:29:52 AM UTC-4 lconley wrote: > VO Porteur - $165. > [image: IMG_1621LQ.JPG] > > Laing > Delray Beach FL > On Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 8:29:38 PM UTC-4 J Schwartz wrote: > >> Greetings >> I'm interested in racking my Wald 139 big basket and am curious what ppl >> are using for a rack. >> I just got an email that the basket rack is back in stock at RBW, and I'm >> considering just buying it but I'm really just not onboard with spending >> $288 on a front rack despite how well it's made and special it is..
